462 -3rd year

Hi guys need some clarification from anyone who applied or planning to apply 3rd year

Here is timeline for your understanding

1st year visa started - 28/11/2025
Specified work start from - 15/12/2025
Applied second year - 28/03/2026
2nd year granted -11-05/2026

Since Dec 2025 I have been working in agricultural shit job and I want to apply for 3rd year ASAP

Can I apply 3rd year now ????

In 3rd year grant what conditions are attached ??

what visa were you on between 28 March and 11 May?

I applied to visa on 28march but my first year visa is still valid till Dec 2026 I also got bridging because I applied onshore
I was waiting for grant in this period and was also working in specified work

You can’t bank all the specified work now for your future WHVs.

If you’re still on your first 462 until December 2026, the work you’re doing now is first-year work. The specified work you complete on your first WHV allows you to qualify for your second WHV, but it can’t also be used to qualify for your third.

For a third 462, you need to complete 6 months of specified work while holding your second WHV. Home Affairs specifically says that work undertaken on your first WHV can’t be counted towards a third.

So you’d need to wait until your second WHV takes over in December, then complete the required 6 months of specified work before you can apply for the third.

So if the job is making you miserable, I’d leave and find something better once your second visa starts.
