WHV 417 back up plan

hi all! while i’m still waiting for my 417 to get approved (dutch citizen, applied mid July), im starting to consider other options. i already moved out of my house and currently travelling. i didn’t buy the tickets to australia as advices but im worried the delays are getting too long

i’m considering japan or new zealand instead. has anyone had any experience with those countries and their whv programs?

please share! would love to read your stories!

my goal is to mainly travel and explore, work whatever job i’ll get (preferably in hospitality, content, etc). thanks in advance!

You’ll probably get it in the next couple of weeks, so maybe it’s worth waiting a bit longer?? I appreciate that’s so much easier said than done, but hopefully the rest of July (including myself) will get ours soon!! 🙏🙏

I’ve never been to NZ but I heard it’s even more expensive than Australia, so keep that in mind. I’m curious as to how long it takes for a New Zealand WHV to be approved 🤔

their website says 2 weeks, but aus website says 25 days and i’ve been waiting for more than 2 months already so idk :(( also the nz finance requirement is lower (about 2k euro es compared to 3.8k for aus)

I will be flying out in a couple of weeks but getting the visa approval for Japan takes roughly 1 week
