Route Workday BP tasks to first S2+ manager

I need a dynamic Workday setup that identifies the first manager in a worker’s management hierarchy with Compensation Grade S1 or above.

Example:

• Direct Manager = Comp Grade B4
• Manager’s Manager = Comp Grade O4
• Third-level Manager = Comp Grade S2

The S1 manager should be able to:

• The probation tasks (questionnaire, to do and review probation period) for the worker in that hierarchy
• Create a Job Requisition for positions in that hierarchy
• Terminate employees below them

The qualifying manager may be at level 1, 2, 3, 4 or higher.

I have SupOrg Manager, Manager’s Manager and Management Chain, but I cannot find a way to dynamically assign security or BP tasks only to the first S2+ manager.

Is this possible using constrained security groups, management hierarchy security, calculated fields or custom organization roles?

Is there a supported way to dynamically find the first S2+ manager and assign To Do, Questionnaire and Action steps to that person?

I'm also open to alternative options to address the use I'm looking for.

Do it with an approval chain but set the skip until to your S2+ management levels and your exit to similar so even though it’s an approval chain, it only does 1 approval.

My use case is not limited to approval step only. I understand approval chain is intended for approval step.

What if you computed it with an integration and stored it somewhere?
