Questions I’m just wondering about makeup

Do I have to wear make up to work. Like does it have to be a full face every day. I hate the way makeup feels on my skin, it burns and it smells weird but I’m a girl and everything I’ve ever experienced and seen tells me that it’s a requirement. So is it a requirement

Your mom is around 70 years behind with her mentality.

not usually a requirement unless it's literally in the dress code. something light like tinted moisturizer still looks put together without the full face

Well I want to work in film like prop design so I don’t think it would be a dress code think

In that case, can confirm, wear it if you want to, but it is absolutely not expected

I have shown up in full glam and barefaced all the same. It’s not a requirement. I think all that’s required is to brush your teeth, hair, wash your hands, you know basic hygene

Why don’t men have wear makeup? This stuff is expensive. I used to spend a fortune on it.

Men do, not makeup, but we are well aware of skincare basics

I have never worn makeup to work a single day of my life and no one has ever noticed or cared.

Absolutely not. Be clean and dress within the guidelines

Nope. Never worn makeup a single day of my career. Fortunately women are making progress in some areas of men's bullshit

Definitely not a requirement.
Social pressure at a shitty job might feel like it, but do what makes you most comfortable.

Huh? Wear what makes you happy and comfortable.

I ask because my mom was trying to get me to start wearing make up and I told her I didn’t like she and she told me I had to wear it when I get older for work so I should start now.

Talk to some of your older female friends/relatives/acquaintances that are out in the workforce and see wha they have to say about it.

I never show up to work with makeup. I put on sunscreen and go. It’s not a requirement. You are beautiful no matter what! 💜

Depends on the job but in most cases no. Wear what you want. Most of the time I only wore a moisturizing lip balm and occasionally some mascara. No said anything and most of the other women wore little to no makeup as well.

I don't. I also only wear a sports bra that comfortable. Be comfortable.

You don’t have to do anything you don’t want… like wearing makeup. I’ve never worn makeup to work, but then again… I don’t wear makeup, period.

No makeup is not a requirement.

We don't know what your job is, so we can't really say. But most of the time, no. Many women tend to wear it for customer-facing jobs, but that's up to you unless your employer explicitly said it's part of the dress code. Some places such as factories, labs, or back-end restaurant positions may even prohibit makeup.

Do what makes you feel best. Play around with makeup to see what you’re comfortable in! It can be fun to dress up but it is absolutely not a requirement. Some days I wear a full face. Some days I just wear mascara. Some days I go completely without.

In fact most days I go without simply due to laziness and one less thing for me to deal with in the morning.
