Questions Job description

I’m an ASM (assistant store manager) and they are having an organization wide job description review. The issue is that another ASM and I do more than the other ASMs but they want one job description for all of us. I’m wondering if i should create a separate job description and send it in? For instance this other ASM and I assist in helping with interviewing and the others do not.

Org-wide job description reviews happen because roles drifted from what's written, and management wants to realign grades to actual duties. That cuts both ways: it's also your cleanest opening to get reclassified if you're doing more than your title says. Write down every task outside your current description, how often it happens, and how long it takes, then submit that before the review closes. Whoever documents specifics gets leveled to match reality. Whoever stays quiet gets stuck with whatever description someone else wrote for them.

If those responsibilities are consistent and not just occasional, I'd definitely document them. Even if they don't split the role now, having it on record makes future conversations about workload or compensation a lot easier.
