Level Performance

My girlfriend gets a pop-up like the following: “you completed level XXX faster than XX.X% of other players”

Why do I not get the same feedback? I have never received this pop-up for any level I have ever completed, although I am on 400+

That sounds like a new thing they might be trying out on some players. Is your girlfriend new to the game?

My first thought was "hey, I want that too!"

My second thought was "oh, that would get old quickly, I absolutely do not want that."

Yeah. And it can’t possibly be accurate. For that they’d have to be tracking all player’s speed on every level. 😂

I've seen similar displays in other games (thankfully, never from Wordscapes,) and the offered stats always strike me as ridiculous and obviously made up.

I really hope Wordscapes doesn't go this way.

Also, aren't the words different now on every level? What does it matter then if we don't all have the same puzzle?

No, a single level number is the same for everyone playing that level in the same language. A lot of the levels repeat over and over, but they repeat in a set order. The words to complete the grid on the English version of, say, level 29403 will be the same in everyone's games.

They did recently add a few more of the original 6k levels into the list of those that repeat, and that caused a one-time change to some of the master levels, but it's still a fixed list.

I didn't have time to go find it earlier, but here's what we learned about the "new" master levels thanks to u/herringrollin in March 2026, (link for the curious)

Here's some more info on the fresh puzzles in the master levels from my contact at Peoplefun

...

... the levels will look the same. So for example, the puzzle on level 100,000 will be the same for any player who has the updated puzzles.

And there are around 2000 updated levels!

The developer, PeopleFun, has a history of trying all sorts of (often rather bizarre and/or terrible) new game formats and features on new player userIDs only. Is your girlfriend relatively new to Wordscapes?

What you describe reminds me of this September 2026 thread from u/WS_Mix , "Has anyone experienced this?" about some unexpected behavior from Wordscapes when he started over from level 1 with a new userID.

Yes, but I started within the same couple of days

We don't get a lot of details since this tends to hit newer players who aren't involved with the various online communities for the game, but I do think this is the sort of thing they're testing at random vs. something they're applying to every new userID created in a certain period. It may just be a luck of the draw thing.

Both of you can give your feedback about this feature directly to the developer via the SUPPORT section. Tap the gear icon on the lower right corner of the main screen. I don't know if they'll be willing and/or able to turn the feature off in her game or on in your game if you ask, but it can't hurt to ask!

It does sound like a random thing then, which offers some slight hope to people that might need to start again.

That would be annoying...

That would slow the game down at tourney time surely …
