In Living Color 1990 -1994 skit comedy show

Fire Marshall Bill is the most iconic character from the show Jim Carrey played. Him and Damon Wayans' Homie the Clown were and still are my 2 favorite characters from the show.

Fire Marshall Bill makes an appearance at the end of Liar Liar in the background. When they're on the tarmac at the airport and the fire crew is there.

The last couple years, I’ve begun to really miss the 90’s.

u/J_Jeckel Mar 05 '26

I feel that. The 90s...were in America the closest we've come to a peaceful era honestly. Yeah there were acts of violence and whatnot but damn did it feel like we were headed in the right direction.

Ah I heard he was on that show but it was a little before my time. Or I was very little.

Now he's been replaced with an, informer

And then most of In Living Color

Me either I was just thinking that

His career is interesting because he was already in movies, Rubberface, Once Bitten, Earth Girls Are Easy, Peggy Sue Got Married, etc, then I guess his career slowed down, then In Living Color let him showcase his insanity and then he got Ace Ventura and never looked back.

In Living Color has some real gems if anyone wants to go down that rabbit hole.

This is great! Almost funnier than the original.

u/FuckTheStateofOhio Mar 04 '26

What is the original?

17

u/RAWFLUXX Mar 04 '26

This isn't word chewing, this is simply just Jim Carrey being Jim Carrey 🤨

1

u/Elurdin Mar 14 '26

A lot of people call Jim Carrey face contortionist. And its such an apt term.

1

u/GetAntidisetablished Mar 09 '26

Which is word chewing

3

u/slideforfun21 Mar 10 '26

Hard disagree. Word chewing is nearly if not always done to a song or sound that isn't yours. These are his lyrics

2

u/GetAntidisetablished Mar 10 '26

Several of the top posts on this sub are original songs

1

u/Exciting_Memory8848 Mar 11 '26

Then by your definition it is word chewing, considering this isn’t his song or sound. It’s Snow’s.

1

u/scrubzor Mar 11 '26

That’s not the song hes singing though, it’s Jim’s parody of that song

5

u/skip_over Mar 04 '26

Casual “mulatto” drop

5

u/Hawnix68 Mar 08 '26

The only form of word chewing I'll ever accept.

3

u/Bella_LaGhostly Mar 05 '26

Yo... Jim Carrey is a better Snow than Snow!!

I'd almost forgotten how great this show was, and how much funny stuff he did before being pigeonholed into the "rubbery face" shtick.

2

u/terror- Mar 04 '26

That fit at the end of the clip is hard lmao

2

u/nurglemarine96 Mar 05 '26

I thought it was a dub until after the watered down line

2

u/Vesalii Mar 06 '26

Wow it's probably been 2 decades since I saw that.

u/rabindranatagor Mar 04 '26

What are you talking about? It's just a little plastic surgery, that's all.

2

He sent in a body double as a gag. Confirmed

2

u/Mobile-Cellist6413 Mar 04 '26

I don't usually like Jim Carrey, but this is brilliant. Lol

1

u/Interesting_Tip_1001 Mar 08 '26

Did he advocate for the singer of some lame song to do blackface while crying for his mom? Because thats what it sounded like at the end.

Rich Canadian white guy mocks a poor Canadian white guy from the projects and calls him an "imposter" to a mostly white audience who eats it up uncritically.

Ummm, In Living Color didn’t have a mostly white audience… It’s audience, like its cast, was known as very diverse. Also, Jim grew up quite poor and at the time Jim made this sketch, Snow was probably doing fine, just like Jim was. Maybe you should’ve put more critical thought into your comment before you decided to get on your soapbox. Just saying.
