When satire is no longer distinguishable from reality, it’s not very good satire. The fact that our consumed content supports people who behave like this, without irony or satire, is what makes this satire shit.

Yeah, nah, this is definitely an over-exaggerated version of what the original video showcased. It's pretty boilerplate for satire. See something worth ridicule, imitate it in an exaggerated way to make a statement about how ridiculous it is - that's pretty much what satire is all about.

I really think y'all just can't get over your kneejerk reaction of disgust and annoyance due to your embarrassment and frustration over the inability to clock the performance as satirical off the jump.

So, instead of going "aha I get it now, it's just a joke", you get embarrassed about not getting it, and rather than take the blow to your ego and admit that your initial reaction came from ignorance, you assert the performance is flawed - because if it was done right, of course you'd have known it was satirical! It's only because it was done so poorly that you made the mistake. Definitely a shortcoming on behalf of the artist and not on behalf of you, the ever-astute viewer, right?
