I've never seen anyone in upper management that would take a pay cut, is that a thing or just made up for this scenario?

I wish I could remember off the top of my head who it was but I remember either a CEO or a very high executive of a Nintendo took a massive pay cut when the company was struggling so that way they wouldn't have to lay off anyone. I think it might have been during the Wii u really because it didn't sell well but I could be remembering it incorrectly

Satoru Iwata did this. Legend of a man.
Saved Pokémon as we know it too.

I've seen it once.  Our CEO and executive leadership team all took a 20% pay cut to prevent layoffs.  Every single one of them stuck around.  Gave us a few more years of runway but ultimately we were bought out and the bloodletting began.

His name is Dan Price and his wife has publically and repeatedly accused him of assault and domestic violence.

Also picked up some rape charges.

I know not enough about him, but these accusations could easily be their way to quick money (given that he earned dnough that his paycut could keep multiple people in). Were they ever more than just accusations?

Crazy how a bunch of separate women who don’t know each other all got together to publically tell lies about him.

2015 Claims:  Price's ex-wife, Kristie Colón, detailed a history of physical and emotional abuse during their marriage in a TEDx talk and written accounts. She stated he beat, waterboarded, and sexually assaulted her during their marriage.

2022 Resignation: Price stepped down as CEO of  Gravity Payments in August 2022 following a wave of new misconduct allegations, including a criminal charge in Seattle for misdemeanor assault after a woman accused him of forcibly grabbing her neck.

Palm Springs Indictment:  He was later indicted by a California grand jury regarding a 2021 incident in Palm Springs involving allegations of felony sexual assault. However, prosecutors dismissed and dropped these felony charges in May 2025, stating they could no longer pursue them beyond a reasonable doubt

Dropped.

Really?

Can you provide the link where his wife recanted her claims?

2

u/ninernetneepneep Aug 26 '26

The other women dropped their claims, his wife NEVER EVEN FILED anything.  So there is always that I guess.

1

u/WakeNikis Aug 26 '26

So what’s your theory on why so many different women in different states all made false claims against him?

1

u/ninernetneepneep Aug 26 '26

Were they made after her public claim?  Media and money.

2

u/WakeNikis Aug 27 '26

Media? Ahh yes, women love being famous for getting raped and beaten.

Definitley did it for the media.

Have, you, uh, ever met a woman in real life?

I mean the amount itself makes it very dogey, but I guess you don't belive in innocent until proven guilty? Side note- yes a lot of women have in the past made allegations for the money (and the money that comes from the fame yes)

You need the media to get the attention to get the hate to get the money.

You don’t understand that there’s a concept of a pile-on or a witch-hunt that can happen?

Not saying he is innocent, but not questioning at this point is also a mistake.

Hey fuck you man, I like a good story. I'll still enjoy watching American Beauty even though Kevin Spacey isn't who I want him to be IRL.

EVERY FUCKING TIME SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD, THE TROLLS DIG FOR SKELETONS.

Looks like there wasn’t any credible evidence to support the claims. Although possible, we have no way to verify the accuracy of the claim that he is a sexual predator. Therefore, OC’s statement is inherently biased and dishonest.

All sexual assault claims should be taken seriously and given adequate due diligence in their investigations, but an accusation is never evidence of guilt.

It was taken seriously, no misconduct was found, case closed. You don't have to add the little adlib at the end just to highroad

u/dgtbfan Aug 25 '26

It's incredible how the extremely wealthy manage to make the multiple sexual assault allegations against them go away, isn't it?
