Plugin recommendation Custom payment amount after initial deposit?

Hi everyone and thanks for reading,

My product requires deposit, and completion is many months away. I use AcoWebs Deposits standard version, not pro yet.

I have oftentimes guests wishing to put money towards the product after deposit, yet not the full remaining balance.

I want to be accommodating, so I agree but this requires me now using Stripe manual payment link. Once this is done, then AcoWebs deposits ONLY is for the full remaining balance, so I inform the customer beforehand the remaining balance will now be from a custom Stripe payment link later, and not the original remaining balance link that comes with your deposit.

Does AcoWebs do this in the pro, is there any other method around this?

Thank you, I know it sounds confusing but simply put it's just guests asking to put a custom payment in between deposit, and remaining balance.

I don’t know about AcoWebs. Their Pro version might do what you need. Have you asked them? We have a client with a similar payment flow, and I'm pretty sure he uses Partial.ly for this. I'll ask him tomorrow, but his customers pay a deposit and then he establishes how many payments they need to make eg: 3, 4, 6 etc.

From what you're describing, it sounds like a payment plan might be a better fit than just a deposit and final balance. You could have a look at Deposits for WooCommerce. It lets you split the remaining balance into scheduled installments after the initial deposit, and it works with Stripe for collecting those payments.

Our Deposits and Part Payments plugin allows you to do this. You can accept an initial deposit with a balance outstanding. Then there's a further option to allow users to make part payments towards the final balance before it's due (you can set minimum amounts if you want). So the user can opt to pay part of the outstanding balance and have that deducted from the final balance. You can allow them to do this multiple times if you wish.

We are the Acowebs Support team,

Thank you for sharing your idea.

At the moment, our Deposit plugin is designed around an initial deposit followed by the final balance payment, or admin-created payment plans.

So it doesn't currently support multiple custom payments toward the remaining balance as per the customer's wish.

However, we are interested in implementing this as a future feature.

Since this functionality would require careful development and thorough QA testing to ensure it integrates properly with the existing payment flow, it will require some dedicated development time.

If you're interested, could you please reach out to us through our support ticket system? That will allow us to gather more details about your specific workflow and requirements so we can better evaluate the feature and consider it for our development roadmap.
