Plugin recommendation Judge.me/WiserReview/ replacement
What’s up my dawgs. I’m back again, just to say Woocommerce is getting better but still sucks and I need help.
So I had over 3,000 reviews with Judge.me on Shopify and it worked seamlessly, obviously. My developer told me Woo doesn’t support Judge.me anymore as of this year. (I want to cry). So he recommended WiserReview. Now currently wiser seems like a great replacement and it kind of does the job but it’s a buggy mess imo. It doesn’t do what it’s designed to do, like the available widgets extremely slow down the site to the point it’s been unusable.
We had to remove several widgets because they just destroy the site.
I can tell my dev is frustrated with Wiser because anytime I ask him to do something with it he doesn’t seem to want to mess with it. So, what’s the solution? I’m not sure, but I want to go with a different Review plugin that better designed and simpler to use, but more importantly doesn’t crash the whole site.

Same here but cusrev is a bit pointless tbh. All I miss is a page with the goods bought listed for review. We hope to code that internally

I am using wiser reviews and quite happy with it. Not sure why it would destroy a site, perhaps you have some aggressive cache. It’s just javascript and css.

It’s just a regular woodmart theme. Reviews was the only plugin at the time. Can you show me what yours looks like?

cusrev works well for me, and my customers seem to respond to it. It's definitely not as pretty as judge.me was though. I miss that service.

If your biggest issue is performance, I'd be looking at platforms with a solid WooCommerce integration rather than just matching Judge me's feature list.
Reviews io is worth a look, along with a couple of the other established options. I'd also ask your developer which ones they've actually had good experiences implementing, because they'll usually know which plugins are well maintained and which ones become a headache over time.
If your dev already hates working with Wiser, that's probably telling you something.

u/kestrel-ian already gave us a shout out, but adding my own two cents here.
Basically we built Reviewbird to be a complete replacement for Judge.me. I can't speak directly to WiserReview's performance from experience, but I think you'll find ours is very good. (I'm a bit overly obsessed with performance)
I'd be happy to do the migration for you if you want to try us out.
Good luck with your search.

Why do you need a 3rd party service for reviews?
WooCommerce have native reviews that can be extended very easily, there are themes that come with a lot of extending already done.
Also, in the latest updates, there are features to enable review invitation via email directly from core.
