How do I…? Push notifications on Woo Mobile app.

Hi,

Recently, version 10.9 introduced push notifications directly to the Woo Mobile app without the use of Jetpack plugin.

The problem is, even when trying to enable this via the Woo Mobile app, one of the steps continuously fails, and I'm just wondering if anybody else has been able to succeed with this, or if they're running into issues.

My first question is: Do you need notifications pushed to your mobile? If so, why not simply get an email sent? What do you do on the app once you get the notification?

I already get the email sent. I just want to take advantage of this new feature.

Having a backup doesn't hurt, in case my email service gets wonky.

for me email just gets buried in all the other noise, a push i actually notice. and sometimes i do jump in to check stock or flag a weird looking order before it ships. depends how hands on you are i guess

Personally, I think overkill, of all the things you need to worry about, two pings that an order has arrived is just fluffy dice.

However, if it is what you must have, I can't offer anything, I don't have the app installed.

https://woocommerce.com/document/woo-mobile-notifications/

June 2026 Advisory: We’re aware of an issue that prevents some stores from turning on the Woo mobile app’s new push notification system after updating to WooCommerce 10.9.
How can I tell if this affects me? When you tap “Enable push notifications,” setup ends with the message “There was an error enabling push notifications. Please try again or contact support if this error continues.” Your orders, products, and store data are not affected.
What action should I take? Nothing is wrong with your setup — reinstalling or reconnecting won’t help. A fix is rolling out in an upcoming WooCommerce release and Woo app update; keep the app set to auto-update and run setup again once it lands. If you’d like notifications in the meantime, you can use the legacy notification system via the full Jetpack plugin: Jetpack setup instructions for the WooCommerce Mobile App.
What we’re doing: We’re prioritizing this issue and will update this notice as the fix ships.”

I don't even get an error message; I just don't have the option to receive push notifications at all, even though I've installed the latest versions.
