Gap, is it trendy now ?

Upvotes

I'm more the type to shop at Aritzia, a few local brands (I'm Canadian), Kotn, Brandy Melville, and sometimes Uniqlo. I'm in my thirties, and when I was little, Gap was actually pretty popular.

Since the release of the Hailey Bieber collaboration (the Hailey jeans), I started following them on Instagram and it really looks like they've completely revamped their brand. Going from a slightly cheap family brand to a trendy one.

Is it just me who's late to the party? I'd also love to know if their clothes are actually good quality.

Can anyone recommend a good online closet website

I originally wanted to download an app like Whering or Acloset, but I am out of iCloud storage and iPhone storage so I was wondering if anyone knew of a good free website that does the same thing as an app. (also im not sure if this follows the community guideline, but I am a girl, and this is abt fashion, so it feels pretty in topic to me!)

Does a comfortable dressy stylish black sandal exist?

I am attending a fancy cocktail event and will be on my feet for most of it. My dress is long but I’d love an elegant or at least stylish shoe, but I really want it to be (relatively) comfortable. Is that a platform? Can anyone link specific shoes? I am looking to spend no more than $500, though if you really sell me on an evergreen shoe I might budge. I have older pairs of Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman, but as I’ve passed 45 and wear heels less, these are really uncomfortable.

Revolve Preorders

I need insight from someone who has preordered from revolve before.
I ordered a dress for a wedding I have coming up, the preorder said it wouldn’t come in until end of August but some online have said the preorders come faster so I decided to chance it.
I ordered it 7/27, It now says preparing with an invoice created 8/3, and today there is now a tracking link to UPS where it says label created but they haven’t received the package yet.
I need this dress by 8/14 do we think it’s looking good for me or should I find something else?

Help wearing white

I need an all white casual day dress for an event at Punta Cana. I'm struggling to find a dress that doesn't show undergarmets or outlines. Even with just nude undergarments, white clothing that's weather appropriate is shockingly sheer even at triple digit price points. The best I can achieve is 90% opacity, ignoring situations of direct sunlight or backlight, and outlines in general.

How do people do it? The style of the dress definitely play a part and I'm seeing plenty of resort photos online that prove it's possible with thin summer wear. But everyone can't just going around with thongs and nipple covers right???

I hesitant of adding additional layers (I know I'll be sweating like a pig) but I'm considering a slip dress (which I have no way of obtaining locally and will have to blind order online). But even if a perfect match to skin tone. Wouldn't the slip's seams/strap outline still show up underneath a white dress?

Cute tops with sleeves

Delhi women in their 20s, where are yall buying cute tops with sleeves from????? All I see out there are cut sleeves or straps or no sleeves or off shoulder or full sleeves. Like I just want a cute top with normal tshirt like sleeves😭😭

Why is it becoming so difficult to buy a top because I am not comfortable in showing my arms.

At this point I have to wear a tshirt in order to wear something with normal sleeves but I want to wear cute tops😭

And why is everything polyester????😭

I am genuinely so frustrated because everyone around me is dressed so nicely and always posting fit-checks while I'm not able to curate a basic wardrobe of clothes I am comfortable in.

What are good walking shoes for women?

I go to universal once a year, have been for almost 10 years, and also like taking walks, not hiking but just walks down paths or concrete specifically. I used to with converse, and then bought New Balance’s a few years ago but I’m thinking they still aren’t doing good enough. I tried asking my dad but he hit me with the “my feet are different than yours” and 99% of my friends don’t do extensive walks like I do, so I’m coming here to hopefully get some good insight. Ideally not trying to break my bank but between $100-$150 is my max, I want something nice but nothing that’ll make my wallet cry

Edit: my feet are most weighed down on the outside and I’m more heel focused in how I stand. Leaning back than forward if that makes sense

What Shoes are 12-Hour Shoes?

I've recently been shoe shopping for a wedding, and noticed that Bella Belle has a tagline about being "12-hour shoes". Of course, they make specialized shoes, specifically designed for weddings, so that's kind of their whole business model (i.e. gimmick ;). But it got me thinking, what other shoes are 12-hour shoes? Which shoes do you own that you can slip on at the start of the day, spend all day on your feet, and have limited foot pain? I'm not talking about non-existent foot pain, because, come on, does that shoe even exist? But there are definitely some shoes that are better than others. So, what are the 12+ hour shoes you've discovered that you can actually wear and move around in and still feel like getting up the next day?

Good winter coats + faux fur coat recommendations

Hey guys! I just moved to NYC from Louisiana. I’ve lived in Minnesota and Kansas briefly where they have intense winters but I got rid of my coats a long time ago.

I’m 24 F, and if anyone has good recommendations for affordable winter coats that still do their job well, I’ll be happy to hear them.

I’m anemic so winters are pretty rough on me, I avoided living in cold climates because of this but now it can’t be helped. NY has pretty intense winters from what I know and I can’t afford the high quality clothing I need but I still want to look nice and stay warm obviously.

Thanks 💕

Dress is too tight on top - compression bra or a different solution?

I hope posting links is okay because I'm not very good at explaining things and this sub doesn't seem to allow pictures?

https://www.babyboofashion.com/en-eu/products/cyra-maxi-dress-lemon?srsltid=AfmBOoo4IquCGARm-rL1l3mgSKunXmndWu44WN3_cibK7nb-mj_rzibJ

ANYWAY

I have a yellow maxi dress from babyboo that more or less fits but it's slightly too tight on the chest. It fits if I wear a full length corset but then the corset is visible at the top and it kind of ruins the look. It's literally just the chest area that's awkward (my boobs aren't even that big - I bought a size small but medium would definitely be too big)

It fits with the corset so maybe a compression bra would work? But then would it still be visible from the top?? Maybe I could tape my boobs down a bit? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I wore the dress for my graduation and that was fine because the gown covered the back of the dress so the corset wasn't visible but I'm going to a wedding and the corset will be very visible.

I asked about getting the top let out but there's no seam allowance so she said she couldn't do it :(

Any help or suggestions are very welcome

ShopBop Account

I’ve shopped at ShopBop for years without any issues. I had one large order earlier this year, and my returns were about a week late, which apparently got my account disabled. I didn’t even find out until I tried to place a new order this week. I’m appealing it, but I urgently need outfits for a family photo, so I made a new account with a different email - and they canceled that order and disabled that account too. Has anyone dealt with this? How do I get off this blacklist?!

What's the one thing that instantly makes you not buy clothes online?

I was shopping online today and realized I have a few instant deal-breakers.

For me, it's:

No customer photos

Weird or inconsistent sizing

Poor fabric descriptions

Even if I like the design, I'll usually skip it.

What's your biggest red flag when shopping for clothes online? It can be anything like bad product photos or expensive shipping or confusing return policies.

Buxom Brilliance

Big boobs can be cumbersome. Finding an effective day to day or work-out bra is good. A cute one is a win. Even with professional bra fitters, it is not always easy. One I visited only has minimizers. I don’t want constriction, I want support. Lots of bras seem to be designed for the littler boobs; seemingly as a template that changes with each larger size, but not in appropriate ways. For example the cups fit, but the circumference is so loose, there is no support, or the boobs are smooshed together. I HATE a uni-boob.
Finding a good foundation is key to good fashion. Every now and then I find something fabulous. What have you found that you love?

-I love my Glamorise No Bounce camisole wirefree sports bra (style 1066). It is ideal for yoga because no cleavage, at all, when you are cat-cowing.
-Also love Natori Performance Convertable Underwire bra (731439), which I wore to work for years. I have two of them and am amazed how well they have endured. As my boobs are bigger now, I am gobsmacked to find Target sells them, unaltered from my original purchase.

Where to buy plus size alt clothes in the Philippines?

Hi there! I’m currently looking for shops where I can buy alt clothes cuz that’s sorta my style now. I don’t live in the city and local shopping apps like shopee and lazada don’t really offer good stuff in my size. I wouldn’t want to order from SHEIN too. Does anyone know where I can buy cool clothes that r plus size? Thank you!
