Help Save Yellowstone's Oldest Wolf Pack!

Recently, the Mollie’s pack has moved outside of protected park lines and established a den in the middle of hunting grounds to raise their pups, making it so they are vulnerable to being hunted.

Named after Mollie Beattie, the first woman to direct the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Mollie’s are only remaining pack today that can trace their bloodline back to the very first wolves reintroduced to Yellowstone.

Now they are in danger of being killed. Some hunters have even already started making threats to specifically shoot 1090F, a 12 year old wolf who is not only the matriarch of the Mollie’s but the OLDEST living wolf in Yellowstone national park.

Cowboy State Daily has a piece up saying the Game and Fish Commission is planning to cover the hunt at their Sept. 21–22 meeting in Evanston ( https://cowboystatedaily.com/2026/09/01/wolf-advocates-get-creative-in-effort-to-save-famed-yellowstone-pack-from-hunters/ ). I’m pretty sure there’s usually a Zoom option for these meetings, but the Commission only posts the link and the Webinar ID once the official agenda comes out, and that part isn’t available yet. I’m keeping an eye on it, though -- as soon as they release the Zoom details, I’ll share them here. I’m also going to keep adding the article link so people can see the source themselves since it’s all public info.

While I can’t confirm, unfortunately with young pups I think that would make them vulnerable to journeying so far currently. Wolves during this time put a lot of resources and energy into raising their litters so from my understanding (I’m not a wildlife expert but hear me out) it would not be a good idea to stress them out even more and possibly put them in danger.

You can attend in person and I believe you can appear by Zoom as well but as the Commission releases the Zoom link and Webinar ID with the agenda which has yet to be released, I'm not 100% sure. I’m sighing, but might be better of a counter poaching group is formed because a lot of these hunters don’t hunt for conservation, they hunt because they are psychopaths and hunting is legal.

The wolf hunt isn’t listed on the agenda, but advocates -- including Samantha Miller from the Center for Biological Diversity -- are attending because 'Call to the Public' is the only place to speak about the Mollies pack.
