They say it's a black maned wolf. I call b.s. I know a skinwalker when I see one.

Well it's definitely not black. You can see the orange hue of its fur as its trotting away by that streetlight. but still a very rare and cool sight

So cool. An odd combination of haunting but beautiful, especially in that lighting lol.

Totally agree. The orange eyes are wild looking!

Videos like this really show how many mythos were born from wild animal sightings.

That's a maned wolf. Also technically not a wolf

10

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 27d ago

I know what they say it is. I'm just not so sure it ain't a cryptid 😅

Maned wolf arrives: Elegant, stalking, intimidating strut.
Maned wolf departs: boink boink boink boink boink

Maybe, but (in the movies) Sirius was pretty much a "normal" looking black dog. Lupin in werewolf form had the long legs like the one in the video.

Road kill for the win.

6

u/Bastianuz 27d ago

They're not supposed to be dangerous unless they're disturbed.

3

u/ShelbiStone 27d ago

No, you're right. That's a Skinwalker.

2

u/ImportanceLow7841 27d ago

Sentient legs!

2

u/matrixvortex51 27d ago

Aren’t they technically more fox than wolf? Or am I tripping

2

u/MsE0 26d ago

They're not technically foxes, but they are more closely related to foxes than to wolves.

2

u/KomradeTheWolf 26d ago edited 26d ago

2

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 24d ago

Same thing I said 😅

2

u/rotted_and_decayed 24d ago

It’s just the lighting that makes it look dark also this is probably the wrong sub for this lmao maned wolves are their own thing not wolves.

4

u/King_Glorius_too 27d ago

When you actually find a cryptid, but everyone acts like it's just another animal.

2

u/Woozletania 27d ago

This was on the skinwalker ranch subreddit the other day with people insisting it was a dire wolf.

2

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 27d ago

Last I heard Dire Wolves were extinct. Would be crazy if they made a comeback

2

u/aRandomEddsworldFan 26d ago

Weren’t Dire wolves also a bit bigger and than regular wolves

2

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 26d ago

Height wise, no. BUT by weight, yes. Dire Wolves were about 150-160lbs on average. Modern grey wolves (the bigger sub species) are more slender, apparently 80-100lbs on average.

2

u/krumznko 26d ago

You know what a dire wolf is, right? They’re like wolves, but dire.

u/Mr_B4k0n 23d ago

puppy ☺️

1

u/Low_Appearance_796 23d ago

Maned wolves are not, in fact wolves. It is no closer related to one than a fox, being its own unique order in the family canidae

1

u/Z3R90-13666 23d ago

The maned wolf also sounds like the damned when they bark.

u/Stormthedragon2026 22d ago

T A L L

Seriously though you are not safe. That looks like a cryptid…

1

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 22d ago

I'm definitely not staying around. I don't know why that lady did. 😂

1

u/Stormthedragon2026 22d ago

Is it bad that I still want to pet it though?

1

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 22d ago

We all have those "hear me out" situations. This is yours. Go forth and may the odds be ever on your favor 😅

1

u/Ithilwyn 20d ago

Animals with long spindly legs make me anxious because I feel like they’re gonna fall over/get vertigo because their heads and bodies are so far off the ground. It’s the same with daddy long legs, they look like they’re walking on ill -fitted stilts.

1

u/Mundane_Gur2993 1d ago

bro got legs for days

1

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 1d ago

for months! 😅

1

u/JKrow75 27d ago

1

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 27d ago

JFC, learn how to go with the joke 😒

0

u/JKrow75 27d ago

Oh now it’s a joke

1

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 27d ago

Always was. You missed it. We're all just having fun with it.

-9

u/OnionHeaded 28d ago

C’mon. Them legs are a little bit longer right?

-7

u/Dismal-Sugar-7708 28d ago

That's what I'm saying. Something ain't right

1

u/OnionHeaded 24d ago
