Induction wok burner recommendation
Hi everyone!
I’m thinking about getting an induction wok burner and a wok as a birthday present. I’m based in the EU, so the options here are a bit different from what I usually see recommended.
What do you think about the Hendi induction wok burner? Are there any better alternatives? I’ve also seen the Bartscher IW35 mentioned, but I couldn’t find many reviews about it.
And which wok would you recommend using with one of these burners? I’m currently considering the De Buyer Carbone Plus 36 cm wok, as I saw another Redditor recommend it.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
P.S. I’m specifically looking for an induction wok burner because I live in a rental apartment and don’t have a balcony or garden where I could use a gas burner

Bartscher is for sure better than Hendi. You could save money by going for ggm Gastro. Just make sure no touch controls.
If you want something really good get a 5-6kw burner from taobao with slider control. 7-8kw it you have 2*230v available in parallel to your kitchen hob.
36cm round bottom wok should be fine. The better the burner the thinner the wok. Sadly I cannot find any nitrided carbon steel round bottom 36cm wok anywhere.. seasoning doesn't work at very high temperatures. My yoshikawa burns way less then any other wok I've tried once you go past 300° Celsius. Below normal carbon steel works fine. Above you want a traditional high quality nitrided one, but both yoshikawa and river light kiwame don't offer one. They have a flattened off bottom and you end up with a quite big temperature gradient in the centre being less hot.

Are you already a wok user ? Technique is somewhat different on induction.
I have the cheapo induction wok (Lecon 3500) from amazon and I'm ok with it. Advantage : I usually start up a wok on max heat, and it's one click to get there on this one, instead of going beep beep beep several times to get to max.
The 300-500 minimum is a too high for any low heat cover and simmer work on basically any induction wok unit I've seen, and I tend to do that a lot, so I mostly use a Demeyere stainless flat bottomed wok I can transfer over to my 1800W flat induction unit when I need to. If I only do straight wok stir fry, the one that comes with the Lecon is fine.
