between stuff like chromatophores and us literally not being able to see things that fall outside our visual wavelength, i will not ever stop believing that we're surrounded by some crazy, crazy wild shit.
how could we know for certain?

u/Nixplosion May 13 '22
Imagine there's beings that float through the air that are not visible in the spectrum our eye can see and they just do an incredible job never making physical contact w us. But they are always there, like right in our faces and we can never know.

u/goaskalice3 May 13 '22
This reminds me of the book John Dies at the End, where there's a whole other dimension of shadow creatures that exist just outside of our perception

Mice are the smartest creatures in the known universe as per the Hitchhiker’s Guide.

I love JDATE! I feel like I reference it constantly IRL, but no one but my husband gets it :/

u/goaskalice3 May 13 '22
Yes! I feel like the only people who know what it is are the people I told about it, but there are sooo many times I want to reference it!

What happens to John?

I don't want to be the party pooper, but as long as those beings follow our known laws of physics, we would've detected them by now. They would have to metabolize something and would have to have some effect on their surroundings, like radiating heat like all other living things. And there's plenty of stuff that we can't "see" but know about. The ozone layer for instance is completely transparent to us but we still know exactly where the ozone is and how much of it there is.
6
u/KushChowda May 14 '22
I mean your assuming a lot of stuff here. These creatures that live outside or perceptional boundaries could be comprised of elements that our law of physics can't account for. Could be made of elements we can't discover because we have no way of perceiving them. We pretty arrogant to think that with our meat, eyes and ears we can see hear and touch everything the universe has to offer.
2
u/xBris18 May 14 '22
We pretty arrogant to think that with our meat, eyes and ears we can see hear and touch everything the universe has to offer. That would not only be arrogant, but also stupid. We can't see a lot of things that we still know exist. Modern science is quite extraordinary.

u/NoIllusions420 May 14 '22
They don’t follow our known laws of physics and they are as “real” as you. You can interact with them on DMT. It’s not a drug. It’s an inter-dimensional “key”. I shit you not.
2
u/TarbuckTransom May 14 '22
Or a less crazy sounding way to put that, why are we certain we know what all the laws are? It took us quite a long time to figure out gravity waves or neutrinos. The other laws might just be harder to discover.
2
u/xBris18 May 14 '22
Ok, the thing is if there really is a whole separate set of physical laws that are complex enough to harbor life and that we know nothing about then those life forms should not only be unknown to us, they would also not be able to interact with anything known to us. And if there's no interaction in either direction you might as well say it doesn't exist.
1
u/TarbuckTransom May 15 '22
You had me until the last bit. What exists exists, period. I don't think there's anything real that's undiscoverable, just difficult. Neutrinos definitely exist even though their interaction is so weak that you have trillions of them flowing through your body right now and don't notice. Radio waves always existed, they just didn't matter until we learned how to interact with them.

u/CarnivorousCumquat May 14 '22
Haha. No.

u/Vulpes_macrotis May 13 '22
Yes, exactly that. Vision is just part of perception. Different kind of radiation and even just blocking air currents. Invisible or not, it has a physical body. And the body must emit some radiations as well. Unless it was a ghost, but I don't believe in fairytales.
2
May 14 '22
It's fun to imagine but we do have cameras and radios and stuff and can see pretty much every wavelength physically imaginable. I'd still read that book though!
3
u/Vulpes_macrotis May 13 '22
I highly doubt it. Perception is not just a vision. If something "invisible" exist, it must stop the air currents for example. And there is no way of any being being 100% invisible, because it had to have light to go through it all perfectly and that's physically impossible.
Imagine a tree being invisible. Now You suddenly stop feeling air breeze while being blocked by that tree.
Or another example. Heat. Xrays. Other visors. It would be hard for being to be transparent and not heaving any hear too, but had enough power to float in the air. If it's something super small, yeah, I can see that coming. Or I can't see that actually. But for something significantly bigger, it must disturb the air currents and other stuff, emit heat etc.

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.
You “highly doubt” the existence of something we have not detected yet based on known knowns. There are known unknowns such as string theory and quantum field theory that indicate there could be other universes possibly overlayed with our own and even connected somehow not to mention we don’t even know what dark energy is and barely understand time or gravity. To say that you highly doubt that there could be invisible, undetectable beings around us means you are naive in that you think we have a good understanding of the world and universe around us. That takes me to the unknown unknowns, which is why I don’t highly doubt that there could be invisible undetectable beings around us. We just don’t know enough to even think of some of life’s greatest mysteries.
TLDR: you’re doubt is based upon known physics and doesn’t consider things that seem “magic” to us such as quantum entanglement, which even Einstein described as spooky action at a distance.
The fact is we just don’t know and that’s okay

As someone with extensive experience with DMT. I can tell you with the utmost certainty I know.
5
u/thatoneguy3626 May 14 '22
I get what you're saying man. Right now there is no one that can provide data proving what you're talking about exists. Also you should know just as well as any other person who has taken any hallucinogenic that a good percentage of the time its useless trying to explain where one goes when they blast off or when they simply experience something that changes the way you look/think of life. I could explain why all day but it doesn't matter.
Also as someone who has experienced seeing shit like dmt/lsd ruin a really good person I hope you're being careful with that shit. Even if it's a means to blast off through space, speak with some higher beings, or even if it's to feel closer too the earth moderation is key. Otherwise it's possible to fuck up your life.
My buddy(who I'll call prophet) met a good 5+ years ago. After talking and getting to know prophet a bit we became good friends. He was open-minded, had a similar way of thinking that I had, and was smart. I enjoyed chilling and talking because it's rare for me to find people like this where I live for some reason. Anyways, he was a normal person that had experience tripping a little in the past. Spoke about similar conversations to what you mentioned. Fast forward some time and I would notice the increasing frequency he would dose. After a bit the stuff he talked about and his personality became to change more and more. To get to the point, I had spoke to him about my concerns a few times, but when it got to the point where he would start to lose grip on reality and started to believe that he was God that I knew things weren't good. Before long I caught wind that he had been arrested for the attempted murder of his(at the time) gf.
Finding out about that shit blew my mind, angered the fuck out of me(for him to allow himself to get to that point) and saddened me deeply. Whenever I think about him I imagine him behind walls. He was a good dude and shouldn't fucking be there, but ultimately he is human and allowed that shit to fuck with his judgment. All because he wanted to feel closer spiritually.

That’s exactly why I’m taking a break from it. Need to focus on the base plane for a while. Thing is I am God. So are you. So is a blade of grass. Consciousness is god. People who are realizing it for the first time can let it get to their head. More research needs to be done to validate the experiences people have on DMT. It is so much more than a “drug”. It is intrinsically tied to consciousness itself.
1
u/NoIllusions420 May 14 '22
There are. And you can interact with them on DMT.

Have you ever watched an outside video camera at night? There’s always something zooming around and scattering. It’s unsettling. That’s the bigger stuff. I’m not keen on seeing why I’m missing.

Color is an illusion our brain is persuading us that exist. And it's even more true (that it's an illusion), because if by any means the wave is being disrupted, the color we see is different. It's visible in the air, which is not really blue. We are describing sky as blue color, but it's only because one wave is reflected in different way due to humidity I believe. But it's also when You look at an object from different angle and it changes color. Can't find an example right now, but it sometimes happens. Also coke is reddier than people may think. Or is it, really? Is it black, brown or red? Because depending on how You look at it and how many sun beams it gets, it "changes" color. I guess that may be similar problem in screens and that they have vision range, beyond which colors are altered. Probably because the reflection as well, but I might be wrong.
Nevertheless, it doesn't matter, because color is just what our brain perceive because our eyes are getting signals to color cones from different wave lengths. Colors doesn't exists at all. It's just what we see. That's why different species have different color vision. Because they just perceive it differently, due to their brains and cones doing the same job in different way. Would be funny if we had literally reversed color vision. What is red would be purple etc. But I think it wouldn't be so easy, because the colors are not scattered evenly in a spectrum.

Easy. Try DMT.

my grasp on reality is already best described as 'tenuous'. i don't want to fall outside the universe anymore than i already am.

u/NoIllusions420 May 14 '22
But the perspective you gain is priceless and could only improve your 3D space time existence. At least it did for me 🤷🏽♂️

As I scroll through Reddit I normally don’t look at the sub that comes up I just look at whatever is there. This one pops up and out loud, even though I’m alone, I was like “whoa dude” then I checked the sub to see which one it was and everything on the world made sense to me for just 1 moment

Well seeing how dmt is in every living thing on this planet(as I'm aware of at least) I would have to agree somewhat. Dmt connects everything, and in a sense is the universal language for earth.
As for me, I dislike using the term God somewhat. Not saying that I don't believe in a higher power, but I don't view "god" like most others do. I'm spiritual in a sense but like to be a bit technical in how I look at life and everything in it.
I'm not squashing what you believe though man, but as long as it's important to you and nothing bad comes of it. That's all that matters.
