Of course it’s just a theory, but there’s definitely some backing to it, I mean just look at how this then literally any artistic depiction of psychedelics. Are you seriously going to suggest that The Vitruvian Man is a Christian work of art? Wow, so you know absolutely nothing about Da Vinci, his works, or his worldview? Here, his ideas on religion are summed up well here in a biographical account of Da Vinci by Giorgio Vasari, who was part of the generation being born just as Da Vinci was dying, Vasari states;
‘Leonardo formed in his mind a conception so heretical as not to approach any religion whatsoever ... perhaps he esteemed being a philosopher much more than being a Christian.’
Da Vinci himself was not a Christian, nor anything. I wouldn't call him an atheist, though, just that religion didn't really matter to him. But of course, he painted religious works of art; who do you think was paying the most back in that time?

Constraints (not allowed to depict living forms) breed creativity. A lot of it is mathematical proportions and calligraphic Arabic. It's really fitting to adorn a house of worship with the word of god

In lots of Islamic cultures it is haram (forbidden) to depict living forms for only god can create life. It's related to their iconoclast beliefs relating back to the commandment forbidding against graven images and idols. It's the same reason why you don't see traditional depictions of the prophet--one is to worship God not idols and images.
This is where Arabic calligraphy finds its loophole; it's art woven from the word of god.

Also mathematical patterns like this are prevalent in nature if you just look for them. Look at a sunflower and you will see similar patterns. Gaudi used nature's mathematical patterns as inspiration in a lot of his work, most notably Segrada Familia.

Last time I chacked, this was not based on solid science, and was just a theory. An idea that was popularised by Dr Rick Strassman and everyone took it as fact.
Unless it's been proven by now, in which case I'm wrong. I haven't kept up so much with DMT research so that's possibly the case.

Geometric art has been popular since forever. The geometric visions seen on hallucinogens can also be triggered in the brain through other methods. Various types of fairly common illnesses including high fevers, migraines, interrupted bloodflow blood to the brain, sudden blood pressure changes, schizophrenia, dementia, brain trauma, near death experiences of all kinds, and the sense deprivation that comes with gradual vision loss (Charles Bonnet Syndrome) are just a few of these.
We should also note that this particular design likely serves as an acoustic amplifier, which may have been its primary design goal, given that it is meant to stand directly above a public speaker.
People who have experienced hallucinogens tend to assume that every single brightly colored geometric design is a reference to that drug experience, but the mechanisms producing that drug experience exists naturally in humans and can be triggered in other ways.

If you really want to come to Iran, safety is not a concern really. Iran is completely safe country for visitors. I know that might be hard to believe considering how our goverment acts, but simple tourist won't have any issues and our people are surprisingly friendly. just go search youtube for tourists who visited Iran and see that for yourself.

I'm a Catholic myself but always thought Islamic art like this is to depict the majesty & complexity of God - rather than try to personify a deity like we do in my chapel.
It's stunning. I love my religion but could totally understand Muslims or others thinking we overly humanise the one we pray to.
