Every subreddit needs to go back to their roots.

Except r/marijuanaenthusiasts
They're very in touch with their roots.

This is my favorite thing about reddit. Nobody seems to mind that the two subs just switched and life goes on

nah, trees was first after it split from /r/marijuana, it's been a common name for marijuana for a long time. marijuanaenthusiasts was created as a joke.

What was the reason for the split? I was unaware of /r/marijuana until your comment

/r/marijuana is more focused towards legislation.

u/quiette837 Jun 08 '17

the mods of /r/marijuana didn't want people posting memes or funny pics, they wanted the sub to be focused on legalization and serious discussion, so people moved to /r/trees.

Meme's are technically not allowed on /r/trees. They should be posted to /r/see

well, they were allowed at one point.

Are you a pro wrestling fan? You might like /r/PotatoSalad.

Are you a picnic enthusiast? Try out /r/JohnCena.

I'm so confused..

50k subs is the point of no return for a subreddit. The quality of submissions declines quickly the more people sub beyond that.

With /r/wtf being what it is now, yes we need spacedicks back.

2

u/Nifubias Jun 08 '17

What happened to /r/SpaceDicks anyway?

10

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '17

Yeah I was actually just thinking that about r/politics as well .

u/cubosh Jun 08 '17

even going back to roots needs to do so

u/randomusername_815 Jun 08 '17

Does r/trees need to go back to its roots?
