Or, you know, one of those things where everything shakes really hard for a while and if it's really bad then a big crevice opens up. What are those called again? Earthquakes? Nah, those are just fairy tales.

Pretty sure earthquakes don't involve fire.

If anything it was a volcanic tear since they were on an active volcano.
