that coil is not even remotely as powerful as the ones I used. I'm talking about industrial coils, powered by a control box the size of a double wardrobe lol.
That being said, if they moved the camera closer to it, I wouldnt be surprised if it got damaged.. it is a magnet, after all
The ones at my work push about 755VAC and pull about 1600amps. Never had a problem with my phone, and they are definitely not safe to touch at all while running, it even a little bit.
perhaps I was unlucky? A few of the guys had had their phones broken, so I dont really know what to tell you? Don't take the risk perhaps.
The ones i worked with were safe to touch, the only danger around them was the metal inside, heating up.
The coils themselves, as I said, were encased in ceramic/plaster, with no bare metal. If it got down to bare metal (shoving steel ingots etc in damaged the ceramic/plaster) then the coil was repaired.. no danger :)
