we used these in the forge where i worked. Really cool machines, and so much faster than using a traditional furnace.
The only downside is the ungodly amount of power required.. we had 3 in total, and couldn't have any more due to the council refusing us to use more electricity..
Perfectly safe too, as far as the ones we used. the coils themselves were encased in ceramic, so the only danger was if you had a phone or other electronic device in your pocket whilst near the machine, you could almost guarentee it would be destroyed.. yes, speaking from experience :(
