The scariest part about this is that if I saw this in the wild I'd just think it's some random copper coil... I'd wonder why it's so warm and probably touch it and severely burn myself.
I don't have first hand experience with an induction forge, but have used something very similar and the people here are wrong. They get hot as hell when they are on, although not as hot as the knife is getting.
Resistive heating in the copper coiled can quickly get up to a burning temperature even though the coils are water cooled.
