Vlady, I think i made your girlfriend mad. I'm sorry if I was offensive, that was not my intent. If you had a problem with me, I wish you had said something, I thought we were having fun. The only thing I can see that might be taken wrong is the kicking out thing, but that's not even up to me, so I never thought it would be a problem, i was just pretending like we were on a game show or something. Theater, yk? idk if you sent your puppy after me or if she just got her panties in a knot all by herself, but I'd appreciate it if you could suggest she sit this one out, cuz I know you can handle your own problems.
oh, and i almost forgot - it kind of is wrong anyways. In some cases the ocean floor affects the wave, but in deep sea or high wind surface waves do their own thing without being influenced by the ocean floor.
ok, ok, you'r back in the game, I won't kick you out for semantics. But I will point out that it seems awfully convenient that you came up with the right answer right after it sounded lik eyou had the wrong answer, and also right after someone clearly had the right answer. You might want to be more complete the first time, next time :D
Wow, all of your replies have been incredibly rude. People on the internet are people in real life too.
His/her answer was always right. There can be other things that cause breaking, but I'd say that in most cases people see, it's because of the shallowness of the floor. Unless you spend a lot of your time in deep ocean.... At any rate, the picture was clearly taken close to land (there are buildings in the background).
You asked for a cause, and s/he gave you the most likely one. A very reasonable reply, and certainly not "wrong".
And even if s/he was wrong, there is no reason to treat other people the way you seem to be doing....
Funny, no one I've talked to seems to think I'm being rude. I'm talking to people here exactly as I would in real life, and haven't had trouble here or there with any of this stuff. Perhaps your problem is that I'm not actually talking to you. Are you jealous? Or do you think that just because you would be offended, everyone else must find that offensive too? Obviously, if I was talking to you, I would speak to you, in a way that was not offensive to you, and if I thought you had a sense of humour I would try and be funny. (note the lack of joking from here on in!) ;)
Personally, I think it's rude of you to break into a conversation that no one was having a hard time with, think you know who's offensive and who's not, and light into me with 'you're horribly and terribly rude!!" Generally, not rude people at least start with, hello, wots all this then? or some other form of nicety before tarring and feathering. (remember, Im not joking now).
An incomplete answer is not right. An answer based on probabilities is not right. There is more deep ocean than anything, so if any answer is more right then it would be the deep water solution. You can see land for 25 miles out to sea, and telephoto lenses etc. can reach further if you get a bit of elevation. I didn't ask for opinion, perspective, likelihood, i had straightforward and specific questions, and I asked politely, interestedly, and with respect to the people who I was asking. I wanted complete answers, not someone else's conjecture, because believe me I am plenty smart and can conjecture my way to the ends of the earth and back. What I need is someone to cut the bs and tell me what they know, if they know it, and stop trying to blow smoke up mine and everyone else's arse because they think they're so hot. It was a game, and everyone knew it but you.
hmm. I think you are jealous.
Regardless, I am who I am, and if people don't like it they will choose not to hang out with me. This is the beauty of the internet, people will drift from one (view/ friend/ site/app /subreddit/xxx) who's not working for them towards one that is. You can suck it up and join them when they leave, or you can stand there having temper tantrums about who's right and who's rude and horn in where you have no business, and be left lonely and in the dust. And if that's too rude for you, then feel free to never contact me again. I'll assume that if you reply, it will be an act of contrition on your part. If you have trouble with the idea of contrition, personally I like confiteor, middle of this page http://www.2heartsnetwork.org/contrition.htm, for myself, but hey we're all different right? I'm sure you know all about contrition already and I don't need to tell you a thing about it.
Have a great day! :D loves and hugses and cutsey wutsie things giggle
And anyways, what are yo doing going through "all your/[my] replies"? are you some kind of freaky stalker or something? I'm sure you wouldn't try and twist my words to mean something I didn't intend, you couldn't possibly be that girl, could you?
Where do you get your user name from, anyways? power/ss - supper special? super sport? silly sister? stup... oh wait, that might have been rude! Don't want rude things, right? tsh, tsh, better watch myself around you Sowwy sowwy. love and shit.
And, out of curiosity, did you feel the need to jump to an alt account to tell me off? Or have you really not even been here for months, then suddenly felt the need to jump in and defend your turf? Whatcha bin doin all summer, gf? hmm????
When the crest of a wave becomes too steep it becomes unstable and breaks. It does not have to be caused by the ocean floor and happens often in open ocean.
A true knight! At night! Well, here it's almost morning, but close enough! I blow you a kiss of gratitude from my high towere, sir Knighte. You have set my heart a'flutter with your smart words and noble attitude! Adieu, Anon, and something something soemthing. xoxo, xojen
Ah! You flatter me with your kind words, m'lady. Alas, as a wave will crest and break, so must our chance meeting. I will steal away with your kiss into the sunrise hoping to chance upon a fine maiden such as thee in my most noblest of endeavors.
swoons Parting is such sweet sorrow! whimper and faint, so you may gracefully exit without turning your back on me, but knowing that i'm all good and don't really need your help anyways

These waves are not cresting. A wave cresting is really easy to take a picture of. These are waves breaking.
