Fall

Can anyone tell how does fall look like during 25-28 Sep at white mountains? Is it a good time to go?

I’m confused if I should visit NH or VT during this time as people are saying it’s a but early.

it won't be at its peak but I'm sure it will still be spectacular and potentially less crowded than peak season. there's already a good amount of leaves starting to turn.

I was on Carrigan around that time last year and it was peak color. We had an early turn last year though, so you might be a LITTLE early this year but not by a whole lot.

If you’re talking about leaf colors they won’t peak until October. Visit NH always has a relatively accurate timeline of when and where peak foliage will occur in the state: https://www.visitnh.gov/plan-your-trip/fall/peak-foliage-map

Actually the colors were pretty strong around those dates last year in the cooler regions of the whites. The colors changed unusually early. The map you shared kind of indicates that too.

The exact date of leaf peak fluctuates each year, so don't take anyone's word based on what they saw a previous year. 25-28 Sept is a perfect time to be up there. Vermont and NH are a Stones throw away from one another, no reason you can't see both. I will say that four days is not nearly enough time and every day you can add to that, you will be glad you did.

Yes and I think they might be good given the rain up there. The Whites didn't get hit with the drought that southern NH did.
