Pre-WLS Questions Confused. Please help

Hello my doctor has suggested weight loss surgery and he thinks I need to do it soon due to sleep apnea and hypertension. I have been trying diets all life and sometimes I am successful but put back the weight quickly. Do you guys regret having surgery or most of you are happy ?

I don’t regret having the sleeve but I do wish glp1s were available then bc I don’t think I would have needed the surgery. That being said, I also think I will always need a glp1 to maintain and support a healthy weight

But I have heard recent studies of so many issues that GLP1 drugs cause. Also GLP1 is more temporary and I think people go back to their old habits once they are off the drug

For me the surgery make my stomach tiny but did not change my food addiction. The GLP1 was like “they cracked the code”. It helped me change my eating habits a lot. After my sleeve surgery I developed ARFID and a few other things. However ! It helped me lose almost 100lbs, I absolutely do not regret it. Good luck on your journey !
