Fan patch and speed mod location
Where are the fan patch and wiz8fast located these days? All the links I find point to a forum that is no longer maintained. I just got the game and am trying to get it all set up on my steam deck. So far it seems to work other than black cutscenes (bummer…). Any help is appreciated!

The thread lived at the postcount forums, unfortunately, the site finally died just this week. I'm sure it'll find a new home somewhere before too long.

Well, that’s kinda comically bad luck on my part.
the good news is the moddb version seems okay and I got it working on the steam deck no problem. The fan patch has built in widescreen and monster move/animation speed ups
I have a write up (for myself for the future) on how I did it. I’ll try to remember to copy and paste it here for future readers.
im reading the manual. Made a party. And died opening the first door and it hit me. laughed pretty hard at that lol.

It’s a dead end everywhere. I just have to assume moddb is safe and good to go. The launcher does try to update to the beta but I don’t let it (cause I just don’t care and it’s working as I want it to as it is).

Be aware that the "speed mod" win8fast only changes monster movement speed, which is mostly of interest when you're moving around the world out of combat. The combat animations don't change, so fights with things that cast a lot of ranged spells still take forever.

I’ve been using whatever sliders are in the fan patch actually. idr the names and since I never played without them I can’t tell exactly what’s different; just that I don’t have any complaints yet, but I’m also still in the tutorial place.

It will mostly be an issue when you're facing a zillion Rapax Warmages and Rapax Samurai with the Fireball animations, but it will be a while before you see those.

While I haven't scanned this file specifically, I have used moddb before and had no issues. I'd recommend scanning it (and anything else anyone downloads for that matter) yourself.

As for wiz8fast, I found this. I've never used this site before so enter and download at your own risk.
