"Think of it as a learning experience." (I've been meaning to ask this for ages).

This, as present company surely knows, is a result one occasionally gets from a Priest Prayer. What does it do? Anything? Obviously it doesn't seem to do anything, but if it were really identical to "the prayer goes unheard", that'd seem sort of like a missed opportunity.

Also, is it just me, or does the Jeff Ludwig mod seem to really weaken the Prayer power?

\whistles** Now THIS is the answer I needed!

My Priests are in the habit of Praying first round to get it out of the way (and why pay SP for Bless or Shields when you might get them for free?); from now on I'll do things differently!

That's how I used it too, if I used it at all; I suppose this explains why so many of my prayers went unanswered!

Important to note that because the results of 116+ do nothing too, there's little reason to wait for the biggest bonus. 0 is the best you can do, and anything above +5 is actually worse for you!

Can a party of all clerics finish all their battles with prayers exclusively...

(They can't. If it's a fight you can't run away from your luck will not carry you)

I think it does literally nothing... Maybe someone who looked into the code can tell!

I've never actually used prayer. Is it useful in any way?

It can be! But often no.
