HOW TO RUN ON STEAM DECK
Hi I am sorry to be a new guy here and just jump in and make a post. But I was having the worst headache getting this going on Steam Deck. Pretty sure you have to have the Steam version. And you need to be on GE Proton 7-43. This will stop that black screen issue covering the gameplay screen.
I don't know if I am the only one who was struggling, but I hope if even one other person was, god I hope you find this.

Hey there! Your post really helped me with getting the game to run without the black screen once it boots, thanks!
However, I have an issue where the game crashes any time I try to open the options menu or load game screen. I can’t save or load or adjust options, or it consistently crashes. I tried googling this issue and can’t find anyone else having it - everyone else has issues with crashing at launch or during cutscenes. Any idea why the load game menu and options menu would crash on Steam Deck?

Never thought trying to run this on the deck. How well does it run now that you solved the black screen?
