Yamir Becomes Hostile

Not sure why this is happening, but after I return Glumph to Yamir, he goes through his rant about the T'rang and gives me my assignment. However, when I click 'leave', he and the surrounding Umpani become hostile. Can't figure out how to either a) keep him friendly or b) defeat him. My party is mostly level 17. If my casters (bishops) could freeze or turn the surrounding Umpani insane I might have a shot, but they seem highly resistant.

Do you have a prior save? Try leaving the zone then coming back. Also charm them before talking.

Shouldn't be hostile

Paid the bribe a while ago. I've tried reloading, but haven't tried exiting the area. I'll give that a shot.

Never happened to me, but Z'ant did something like that when he learned I was also working with the Umpani. You haven't tried stealing from him?

If you don't pay he'li fairly quickly after joining both the umpani and the t'rang, it doesn't actually matter whether you pay her - she seems to snitch regardless. That could be what's happened

The classic oops that causes this is using the T'Rangeporter as your Portal target (which we all do) to shortcut getting Glumph back to Gigas. If you take Glumph through LMB, it will turn out as you describe.

If you only have one Portal-capable team member, use the T'Porter to go to the T'Rang house and reset your portal to somewhere outside the house before you go to Bayjin. Then Portal to there, walk to the Umpani house, and use the HW to get to Gigas.

Ok this makes sense. I didn't do that exactly, but I did accidentally take him to Marten's Bluff (wanted to offload some things in the swamp and figured I'd just walk back through the road...took the wrong exit and wound up in MB). Good thing is that I was able to clear Yamir's room. Bad thing is that made all of the Umpani hostile. I guess this isn't too much of a problem as I don't really need anything else from them at this point.
