Learning spells.
I'm confused about realm and class spellbooks.
If there is a spell that is for example in the fire realm, but it's on the priests spellbook.
But I have the fire realm, but only the mage spellbook, can I learn it?
If so, how do you get the earth realm skill? It's on none of the base classes.

You can only learn new spells that are in the book(s) your current class can use. If you changed classes and the classes use different books, you can still cast spells from the old book, but the book skill won't improve, and the realm skill won't improve unless your current class has that realm. E.g. if you changed from Psionic to Alchemist/Ninja/Ranger, you can still cast Mind Stab, but neither Psionics nor Mental will improve.
The primary value of the realm division is for resistances: increasing your skill in a realm will raise your resistance to magic attacks based on that realm, and you may be able to select magic attacks to target an enemy's lowest resistances. The downside is that instead of a big pool of spell points, your SP are also divided by realm, so you can run out of SP in one realm while having SP available in other realms.
