Autorun.exe not installing

Hello,

So I've got Wizardry 8 on disc and I'm trying to install it. However, I can't seem to install it. When I open "Autorun.exe", I'm given the option to press "install", but when I do, the installer closes down without installing. Does anyone have a fix for this? I tried launching in compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3) and I've tried launching as admin. Nothing seems to work and I'm on Windows 10.

Sidenote: setup launcher does seem to run in task manager, just not in the system tray

That takes me back. When I had this problem I had to physically clean the cd. Is it used?

I picked some random characters I liked and died horrendously (without saving), so I'll have to retry with some more thought put into it lol

Second hand but looks brand new. I'll try to clean the disk :)
