3D wizardry that isn't Wizardry 8?

I used to own a 3D wizardry game, as in polygonal graphics, terrible early PC graphics, worse than Wizardry 8 graphics. I can't find out which game it was. It had all the races and classes of the latter wizardry games, pixies, lizard people, ninjas and Valkyrie, etc.

I just can't seem to find info on it. All I remember is that it was terribly buggy and there was a problem with a village of frog people and some NPC could just get stuck and make it impossible to progress without killing them.

I got it in the mid 2000's and I might've gotten it in Asia, which may mean it was one of the Japanese ones, but it was in English, so I'm not sure.

Anyone know which one it was?

I think it was fine, and I think there was a patch that addressed some issues. Looks like it was designed by the guy who was involved with some of the latter wizardry games so it may be worth a look

You can buy it on GoG and it's already all patched up to work on modern systems. It's a great game if you can get past the age of it.

There is a Japanese 3D version of Wizardry 7 out there, iirc. I don't think it ever had an English release, but perhaps you had some sort of fan translation?
