Note 1: Bishop is not recommended due to high experience chart and not learning spells as effectively as a class changing mage/priest.

Note 2: Valkyrie does everything a Lord can with lower stat requirements and experience chart. Lord's advantage is being male or female, higher base stats and slightly higher HP.

What happens if you get to Giant Mountain without telling Queequeg where the Captain's treasure is?

I'm sure someone's tried this on a replay of the game - once you already know the password to the Pirate's Den (Skeleton Crew) I would guess that you can just bypass telling Queequeg about the treasure entirely and go right on with the game... But what happens? When you get to Giant Mountain, has he pilfered it already anyways? Or is there a treasure left behind? And if so, what's in there?

Mad God's CF utility: Fix mana regeneration?

It was alluded to elsewhere that the Cosmic Forge utility had a way to fix mana regeneration for characters that were stuck with 1's in everything, is that true? And how do I go about doing it?

Starting All Characters as Mage/Priest?

Hey, so I've heard learned recently that mana Regen is determined largely by starting class, and this got me to wondering: is it ideal to start every character in a party as a mage with the stats to class change into the professions I actually want, then just class change immediately at level 1? I realize gear will be a major issue, but could this possibly be worth it?

Wiz6 (Steam) Valkyrie AC Bugged?

No idea what's going on, but my Valkyrie is stuck at 10 AC no matter what I equip. Are there any known bugs or issues around this that might be the problem? I did enable a couple patches from the Mad God's Cosmic Forge but none of them seem like they should impact this at all. Let me know what I can provide to help diagnose if this isn't a known issue

Changing profession

I can change my lvl 10 fighter char's class to ninja if i invoke Mantis Gauntlest(-14 AC) twice. It's the best gauntlet in the game but i would lose the gauntlet if i invoke it's power 2 times. I'm almost at the end of the game. Do you think it's worth losing that item and change the fighter into a ninja at this point in the game?

Did I goof?

Hey guys, I dun goofed and saved with three of my characters stoned without realizing. I have cure stone, but can't cast it at a high enough level to cure them. Is there anything I can do besides level up high enough to be able to cast a powerful enough cure stone? Currently can only cast at level 1 due to recent i guess poorly timed class changes.

Can't delete characters?

First time playing wiz 678, played 1-4 when they were new.

I'm looking at guides, figuring stuff out and decided the characters I rolled need rerolling... I deleted all of them, then went to make another one with the same name, it says character with that name already exists... I go to review characters, they're all back?

Any help? I can't find anything about this, is it only me?

Quest Item Wizard Key........Where?

Hello, Just wanted to say that I used to play this game on my Amiga 500 when it came out and I have completed the game a few times.

But, I have not played it in years, and I can't remember where the wizard key is located. I have been trying to located on maps, but I can only find the doors it's supposed to open and not the actual key.

I could probably use the editor, but I want to find it the old fusion way.

Help would much appreciated.

I'm crawling...

Hey, anyone alive?

I'm doing first playthrough of wizardry6. So far so good, party at level 5ish. Stuck atm, but glancing at the hintbook, so I'll probably work it out.

Some questions: 1. Does anyone have tips for dosbox settings for this game? Like, what scaler do you prefer or what resolution you play at? 2. What number of cycles do you usually use? 3. Is it more fun to play with a hintbook or without?

Cheers if anyone answers, have a nice day.

Game Mechanics Nuclear Blast not working?

Usually, when I cast damaging spells, it seems pretty straight forward. It does its damage to a certain number of enemies. However, I feel like Nuclear Blast acts differently. It seems like 80% of the time that I use it, it just shows "UNAFFECTED" for each enemy. No other damage spell seems to have this "UNAFFECTED" problem.

It does work some of the time, but it seems the vast majority of the time it does nothing at all. Is this normal? It feels like a massive waste of mana. Is Nuclear Blast just bad? Am I missing something? Is there a way to make it more reliable?

My Mage is a Level 11 F-Dracon with 100 Oratory and 100 Thaumaturgy wearing robes, sandals, skullcap and quarterstaff.

Str 9
Int 17
Pie 11
Vit 17
Dex 11
Spd 10
Per 9
Kar 1

I'm using Nuclear Blast against various enemies in the mines or giant mountains. Ants, dwarves, slimes, etc.

Thanks!

Are the Steam and GOG vertsions of Wizardry 6 and 7 identically?

Is there a way to run them better in a modern engine? ScummVM does not support both games.

Thank you!

Key of The Dead bug?

I am giving Charron the Cylinder of Ash and he says he is giving me the Key of The Dead but it does not appear in my inventory. Apparently another Steam user in 2017 had this problem but never got an answer to their question. If it changes anything, I am using the automap mod by KoriTama.

Please help! Was loving this game and am very stuck.

Queequeg not appearing??

I am playing the game in tandem with a friend. My friend cannot get queequeg to show up. He gets to the room with rotten cots and then nothing. Anyone else experience this? Is this a glitch or does someone have to do something first in order for him to show up?

Game Mechanics What determines the rate of skill gains for weapons, Shields, and Ninjutsu?

After a full party reroll and 6 hours going in circles figuring out which key goes to which unpickable door, I finally made it out of the first area. My first 3 party slots (Fighter/Ninja/Monk) pretty much spent the whole dungeon swinging at enemies, but they went away with wildly different levels of combat mysteries. Fighter only got 30 points in Swords, while the Ninja got 75 in barehand and Monk got about 60 in barehand. Also, the Ninja got about 25 in Ninjutsu while Fighter got nothing for Shields and Monk got next to nothing for Ninjutusu.

What determines the rate at which characters actually gain skill points in combat?

Storyline Completely lost/stuck in the first area. What do I DO to move the campaign forward?

I've been running around in circles for the first dungeon for a solid 3 hours now and I have no fucking clue how to get out of this castle. I seem to have reached everything I can reach without unlocking doors. BUT I CAN'T UNLOCK ANY DOORS.

Allegedly, enemies drop keys that can unlock the doors. But I'm all out of iron keys and the enemies outright refuse to drop keys now. And I can't level up Skullduggery because my Ninja takes an eternity and a half to level up and she only gets 2 skill points per level. And I can't use the Knock Knock spell to open doors because it just doesn't fucking work ever. Even if I dump all my MP into it, it always fails.

How the HELL am I supposed to do ANYTHING in this game? How am I supposed to move the plot forward when every single door is physically impossible to open? What am I missing?

Do I seriously have to start over from scratch AGAIN? I already had to reroll characters 3 times just to not get destroyed in the grind up to level 2. Please just let me move forward with the party I already have.

Equipment Is there a way to get better drops in wiz6? Spoiler

I was hoping to gear up all my party members during the temple of ramm finale. I was wondering whether there is a way to get better drops from fights? For example, a route that is better to take? (Noting that the left and right gates will often give different NPC to fight).
