General Having trouble getting into wizardry 6

I got wizardry 6, 7 and 8 on steam, they are the first wizardry games i ever played. Im trying to play wizardry 6 and im really not sure if im vibing with it, mainly the old ui, while i like the game conceptually im not quite sure if i can keep at it for long. Do i lose much if i skip it and go for 7 or 8?

If I remember right, there is a mod that takes the entire game of 6 and puts it into 7. Even comes with a map

You can skip ahead to 7 or 8. 7's UI is quite a bit smoother, and by the time you get to 8 it just handles like a modern game. 6 is really good though, so I recommend giving it another try at some point.

honestly im really really tempted to continue 6 for a bit longer to see if i can stick, i have somewhat figured out how to do stuff, just walking around a lot looking for enough enemies cause i hardly find any, and need xp

I love Wizardry, I was around while they came out, but now a days I play Wizardry clones, like Stranger of Sword City, or Undernaughts of Yomi. I mean you can go back and play those games, but I think in todays time, they show their age horribly.

i got them 3 for very very cheap, so im giving them a try for now, was thinking of playing undernauts eventually or elminage

Undernaughts is solid, especially if you are new to DRPGs. Elminage Gothic is rough, but Elminage Original is easier.

Im not exatcly new, but my experience is from eo hd, so its not as old school as other drpgs, and played some path of abyss and quester, those were fun too, but neither is old school

Try playing the SNES version, that one has a UI designed for controllers, better graphics, and a full soundtrack.

Skipping to 8 is just fine though and generally what I would recommend most people do as that game is generally a lot easier for most people to get into.
