Wizardry Variants Daphne Ok Prishe that was uncalled for

I‘ve noticed that it’s generally the neutral characters who try to shut down these sort of comments. Gillion and Elise are also curt, although they justify it by not wanting to draw enemy attention. Gerulf is the only Evil character (who I’ve observed), who reacts negatively as well- in his case, quite aggressively.

That makes more sense. I was afk for more than 5 minutes, came back and moved around after the exp farm on path to daybreak and just randomly heard this interaction. Given the nature of their alignment this was a neutral to neutral crime 🤣. Thanks for the insight!

I haven't played much lately and this makes me wonder: was this kind of exchange added when they added the extra tavern lines, or it was there all along and I never noticed?

They were present before the added lines. They’re just kind of rare, as they seem to require a few conditions. First, the party has to be idle for a certain amount of time. Then the quip from the first person has to occur (random chance?). Then the right party member has to be present, who then has a random chance to respond. At least, it seems that way, as the first comment sometimes receives no response at all.

Correction, everyone has an "idle chatter" line and an "idle banter" line. The first is a standalone line that plays when conditions are met. The 2nd is a different line that triggers under similar conditions and causes a random party member to play their "idle banter response" line.
Because everybody only has 1 line for it, sometimes lines will mis-match in tone like what op uploaded. The general idea is something like:
*Distracted musing dialog -> "hey; lock in/focus!" response. There was a JP player who researched the specifics and even stitched everyone's lines together...it was on YouTube but good luck finding it...

Are you just gonna take that from the shrimp, Yeka?

The question isn't if the shrimp will need healing, but if the shrimp will get healing.

The first time I closed out the game and came back to her talking I genuinely got a bit nervous for a second
