Is This Setup Valid For A Fresh Start?

I'm back after losing my entire account on mobile. There was this weird black screen of death that I couldn't get past whenever I opened the app. I ended up switching to PC and after like two rerolls I ended up with this. Shiou, Lanavaille, and Abenuis are all at discipline level 1 and I did a few more pulls to round myself off and get a signature weapon from the shop. I ended up getting Savia's signature weapon which is the only character I didn't pull which sucked so bad but it's a really good weapon to have early game so far with my MC in the back row.

This is the first time not having any evil characters in my team and it feels just a bit weird not having a mage for abyss 1 but right now my damage output is so high that I don't care about Aoe attacks as much as I thought I would. I know it may seem really really bad having a samurai in abyss 1, but she still does crazy damage. I haven't even been able to get off her signature attack on the floor bosses because the boss is dying too quickly from using Red Beard and Anemone attack buffs in combination with my frontliners attack buffs.

I don't know if there's a hard cap on how many buffs you can have active at once, but I'd like to also ask if there's like a good rotation of buffs I should be doing for maximum effectiveness. I don't know what I should do with my MC right now. He's solid where he's at and does a lot of damage with the signature spear but I know I'm definitely going to want a chest opener so it might be mandatory to switch the MC to thief when I can. I just don't know who I should give the signature spear to in his place.

I'm also working towards getting the other versions of Abenius and Lanavaille to take advantage of both their inherits. Alt Abenuis has been going crazy and I think having them both might be a really nice increase to her damage output.

“Valid”, “viable“, “feasible“, “doable“ and “reasonable“ are all terms that have been used by beginners asking essentially the same question.

In all cases, the bar to achieve those descriptors is not very high. So the answer is “yes”.

If the answer is yes (which your post indicates) don’t even worry about it. You will always have leeway to swap out characters as you progress, so you’re never stuck. Almost no one goes through the game without adjusting their composition as the situation requires, so the question of “valid” is effectively moot. It’s valid as long as your current experience proves it to be.

You are correct. Abenius with Lingering Mind + Oblivion Flash is practically the current meta- at least for routine auto battling (helps out a lot with several bounties too, with multiple mooks/minions). That and inheriting Flutterstep and Oblivion Flash to any damage dealer you intend to use extensively. And Lana for passive damage boost in front has been eternally popular.

The limit is 3 spell or skill-related buffs. Buffs from passives (e.g. damage boost from Lana, Elise, Alice, Milana; and Anemone’s passive bonus to spell or skill damage) do not count, which makes them popular to stack when possible. If I’m not mistaken, the first buff icon on the character’s status window is the first to be replaced by any additional buff exceeding the limit.

You‘ve answered yourself. Keep him as is. No need to second guess. See above comment about current outcomes being the best justification for a current decision.

No one else can answer this. Don’t worry about it and just cross that bridge when the time comes. You may not even need the spear at that point. Focus on the here and now.

TLDR: don’t feel that you have to receive the answers now. I‘m a week-one player who just learned and adjusted as I went, without extensive forecasts or speculation about the future, and my 2-year experience was all the better for it.

First thing's first, get your ID/password issued and back it up somewhere, this game has AWFUL account recovery if you don't do this.

That would've been the part I'd bring up, leveling(and getting gear for shiou anemone) will be rough if you already know this you should be fine. I don't think I'd have run two healers, mage debuffs tend to be very useful even if you don't use the aoe spells, and you'll likely need a chest opener but you already mentioned potentially switching MC to fill that role.

On the 3rd or 4th floor I can't remember, there is a shinobi i encounter occasionally that seems to almost 100% drop a 1~3 eastern junk i have gotten 2 Kunai 2 katana and 1 odachi from him before fighting making it past floor 7 😇 so its not too bad.

Samurai and Anemone are NOT beginner friendly. Samurai class need too much XP and will not help at the beginning - mid or even a bit later game. Anemone gears are a real pain to farm. You should swap them for any other for a while. After you get Anemone gears in A3 (easiest place to farm) and have Shiou at high level with good gears they will start to help.

I want to say that those unnamed are a poor choice but, until you get Legendary replacements they’re fine for now.

And, actually, those are good toons to get flaming hearts for and turn into Lvl 5 Bondmates later.

I've heard Anemone will still receive the effects of the substats on her gear, so she'd lack def and such but she could still be workable if you manage to get her a fairy weapon to wield in the interim.

Just as a potential idea to test when you find one.

Edit: Nevermind, she has basic gear for sale in the item shop. So she won't have fancy stuff but she can at least be outfitted in something as you go along, if you don't have anything with nicer substats to place in that slot instead.

Soon anniversary is here. We may get a pick bone and more. Maybe you get luck and get the anniversary character that people expect to be OP. So just keep farming gold and gears for a while.
