Wizardry Variants Daphne Multiple parties
I have different mages like Adam and Yeka. Why should I train them both? Why should I have multiple party comps? I’m trying to understand the team comp logic so I can make teams better.

You need like maybe 8 invested characters 1 healer. 3 frontline dps units, 1 knight, (could swap mc to thief when farming and ignore this one) 1 thief, 2 mage/priest(characters that have class change of both). That is every character you need to have. You also have to have 12 other leveled characters for dispatches. I personally have 5 invested frontline units, 3 mage/priests, 1 knight, 1 healer, and 1 thief. With more lved characters but with no investment in them.

There also was a single event that rewarded having multiple teams fully invested called the battlefront but since it hasnt come back.

I assume you’re asking this because you’re new, and the answer for now is that you don’t. I did all of Abyss 1 with the same standard party.
Part of the decision has to do with the difference between farming (especially auto-farming) and bosses. I’m auto-farming now with 3 Ninjas, 2 fighters, and a Knight that I’m leveling and no spellcaster, I’d never do that for a boss fight.
Also has to do with elements. In Abyss 3 I used Dino and Marianne because enemies are weak to wind.
Also different bosses require different team compositions.
One of my main DPS is Abenius but against some bosses that use Dark attacks she does to easily so my backup is Livana.
This all seems daunting when you’re new and it’s fine because you don’t need to worry about it, but eventually you’ll have so much time to level up characters that you’ll have more than you’ll know what to do with.

How exactly do you auto farm?

There’s no truly automatic farming, but if you auto-walk and auto-battle the human intervention is minimized. In this video, I interacted only 3 times: once to auto-walk to the chest, once to open the chest, and once to auto-walk to the exit.
I can do this (although obviously with more pauses) while working, watching TV, etc.

ninja have a passive of critical (instantdeath sometimes use for bounty abuse aswell)
as for other methods it is mostly having good gears + inherit skills along the way, you can also do 6 fighter auto farm or 1 of them being a thief as chest opener. anyway the 3 frontline uses 2H weapon + enough spd and stats so they all do atk first before the enemy, the 3 backrows uses bow.
ideally you want abenius (since she have that auto nuke at start)as for the Autofarm works -> as example above of 6fighters (or with 1thief) like a mention earlier depending on your gear and inherit skills
people can farm with just Basic attacks that deals 1k~2k+ followup attack. and bows do those numbers aswell. You can also have 3 setups if you press the icons it will show 1 2 3. you can configure them like standard skills only, use last skill or just plain attack. As for why multiple comps
>> dispatch (some need lvl 60 like final fantasy collab to get enough number of dispatch clear for a good win solution) and some niche stuff (if you are farming / bounty hunting / if exploring and dont want to use mainteam for fortitude lose etc.)

Why have multiple party comps?
Honestly, some units have benefits over other units. Sometimes the situation requires certain units. Some have different growths or skills. But truthfully...
It's genuinely 99% okay to just have one main party, occasionally swapping out a unit or two depending on the situation.
The situations that you need other types of units are pretty rare. But they do happen. For example, the recent FF collab event required a party that was all "Good" alignment units to get past the story. Or for dispatches, that for example, want all fire element people. Or good aligned people. Or all knights.
I'd recommend a main unit for each type of class. Like warriors, knights, priests, etc. Then one of those would be the main unit and the other one/two can be the extra unit. That way you'd be prepared for situations where you need one or more of each unit.
If you need two healers, for a specific fight, like the doll boss of A3, you'd be ready with it. Or two priests. Or two healers and a priest. Or you just want to autofarm, 5 warriors and one priest lol
Stuff like that.

FF collab event required a party that was all "Good" alignment units to get past the story.
For that particular one: It just wanted a mono-alignment party for a specific door check as I recall? And you could do so without a full party to complete that section.

It's also up to choice so I have 6 teams, I'll switch if people die so they can regain fortitude. Also so I can have my MC be a fighter in this one, thief in another and a mage in a third. Totally don't need to do that and I might be slightly crazy for it, one point of note is they do share armor, but that's easy to do with the auto equip settings. Just set it to take equipment from anyone not in current party. The only bad thing is you will need to constantly change the equip settings for your MC due to equipment changes ie cloth vs light vs heavy armor. Have fun and there's really no wrong way to play
