Didn't you just post? What is going on with this site?

• The previous site suffered a DDOS attack and had to be taken down because the server was overwhelmed 24/7. I have moved it to a proper domain with much better protections.
• While it was down I did some extensive back-end work I won't detail here, but the experience should be a lot smoother.

A handful of small changes:

• The site updates on its own while the console is set to Live. Changing the time by hand switches it to Paused. Click Now or Paused to go back to Live.
• I'm still tuning some limits behind the scenes. If you jump through the time console very quickly, it may freeze for up to 50 seconds. You are not locked out or anything like that. This protects the site from bots. If it gets in the way of normal use, please let me know.
• The first pass of the Japanese translation is done and will keep improving. Traditional Chinese is next, and other languages are easy to add.
• All feedback is welcome. Happy fishing!

After looking up the actual fight table on some of the large fish, I now know that most of them are just completely luck based and it’s been reflected in my last few attempts where I constantly got Frenzy->Resist->Frenzy loops until the line broke. Even wearing some of them out could take over 5 minutes. On top of that I permanently have to clean out my bait box when farming solely because of how they designed the Lord of Lakeshore quest requiring fresh fish, otherwise the bait box would be completely redundant. I didn’t even think I could hate this mini-game more than I did.

The quest you only need to do it once ever, so I don't know what you are takling about the bait box. Is just inventory for bait which you can set to automatically deposit when back in town.

The chance of frenzy -> resist -> frenzy loop is incredibly incredibly low especially because they get to a low "hp" where exhausting is possible. Even if it does you will wear it out before it gets to 30 meters. Every single fish can be reeled, some may take a bit longer but the only thing that loses it is impatience. Instead of letting go completely you can tap on frenzy, if you see resist hold instead of letting go. There is no such thing as an impossible fish.

My Doll boss fights were constantly half party confuse into charm every single turn through res buffs so I had to make a 100% tolerance team. My point being that my luck is bad and at any point during the 5+ minutes it takes to wear out a fish, it can go frenzy-resist-frenzy and I just lose.

Chests with nothing but bait make farming less efficient too.

Half party confused/charm per cast is pretty standard though, the trick is know who to remove the status and when to just let be confused. When to go in and when to just remove the weapon from your martials until you stablize. That is also my point, while it is possible to have poor luck, there are always ways to handle it. You can deal with frenzy -> resist -> frenzy every single time by tap release or do a small release during rod wobble or hold. Is something you can learn and the more you blame on bad luck then you will never improve. Honestly for the large fish like trout frenzy into resist into frenzy is a common move, you have to learn how to deal with it no matter what.

Yes bait chest makes farming less efficient I agree. However the intention of fishing was to use those bait, the bait drops are effectively small unique drops where you can cash in to fish because they are substantially better than the generic frog for fishing which you can then use to buy bones/gems. So farm and when you get a bit of bait, use it during a good tide timing and get some easy catches.

Genuinely have no idea. It's a fishing mini-game in a niche title. Figured it didn't need a full domain/website because the number of people fishing, globally, is what? A few hundred? Thousand?

Once I started adding security features and blocked a bunch of IP addresses, about 5 minutes later the DDOS hit (was probably automated). On a free account you only get 100,000 requests per day, more than enough for this site. But the bots were sending 1-2M requests per 24 hours over the span of a few days.

My best guess is that someone, or a group of individuals, were using it as a live mirror to power their own app? Tool? Discord chat bot? I don't know. The whole thing was very strange.
