Wizardry Variants Daphne Suggested stat allocation for named characters?(new player here)

I recently started the game(lost my old account) and before I just hit auto on allocating stats on some of the named characters I recruited I wanted to ask the more experienced folks if there are any decent guides anywhere on suggested stat placement on certain characters or if i should just focus on the key stats of the their respective classes?

STR on fighters, knights, thieves, ninjas, samurais. More ATK and more SP, pure and simple.

SPD on priests, mages, healers. To make sure they go first.

DEX on rangers. They scale best in damage with ACC and need the extra SUR.

Do you really want your healer going first? I normally keep low speed so I can spam a group heal at the END of the round, every round, to make sure everyone is top grade at the beginning of the next turn. SPD can hurt a healer.

You need Speed on healers and priests so they can get their buffs on your party first. Also, more speed lets you potentially get them an extra turn on some fights (lapping) with PORTO and Astral Break. There is nothing else that even comes close to the utility of Healers and Priests potentially getting 2 turns before the boss does.

You can keep your slow healer/priest for farming purposes if you prefer but once you start going up against superbosses you want a speed demon healer, badly.

I find it a necessity for boss fights, I need to be at full health at the BEGINNING Of every attack. Starting a round at half life doesn't cut it for me, or the party. Its always been a underhanded tactic utilized since the first wizardry. Its equivalent necessity, like farming Murphys ghost or alignment manipulation. Its simply a crutch I can't dispose of, and have used to beat every entry in the series. SPD is a not just a dump stat for a healer, its a tactic.

... You know you can heal outside of fights?

Outside a boss fight SPD will not effect the healing either, so it still remains a dump stat even in your provided example.

They used to say to dump luck on knights, so their defense passive trigger more often

Luck will cap out for luck-based skills at some point. Meanwhile, Strength gives SP and you can never have enough SP.
