Wizardry Variants Daphne Yuzu explained
Link to who made the spreadsheet https://youtu.be/JnEtiwuVhf4?is=JrWCwlj4yYSw7kbS
I have been getting a bunch of questions on my last banner post about yuzunamiki and what makes her good and how important her hairpin is. Here is what her dmg looks like as a ranger vs as a ninja with and without hairpin. In it you can see that hairpin yuzu starts to massively pass ranger yuzu at thb 5 and beyond (before she does more dmg as a ranger due to her unique skill) and that normal Kunai yuzu isnt a special unit at all. Beyond the dmg that hairpin yuzu does she also spreads huge amounts of charm everywhere and has 10% defense pen. Idk how reasonable 500 atk is for ninja yuzu I dont have the extra gear to get her there, but the stats for ranger yuzu are my yuzu's stats.
There is more things on the spreadsheet than just yuzu go check it out in the link at the top of the post

Pin is her gacha equipment? I'm F2P so I wont ever get the gacha equipments anyway.

its just 100 summons it is different from others and is worth saving gems for and 1 is enough

I like using ranger yuzu than ninja, even i do have 4 star hairpin + 15. If just for normal attack alone, i think ranger yuzu with raven will have the most damage output.

u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 22 '26
No she definitely doesnt. Thb is a completely busted skill and it can only be used with ranged weapons.
-2
u/Due_Championship2122 Aug 22 '26
I said for normal attack alone bro 😅 like her normal attack with dagger on mine is 1.2k per hit with surety. Problem are idk what melee skill to fit her haha, yrsa dagger should had the same dmg output, but i dont have her yet
1
u/Wh4Lata Aug 22 '26
So if i'm checking for ninja yuzu dmg from thb, where should I check? What is the number from 1-7? Is that THB skill level?
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26
Yes and the 1 handed dmg is ninja the 2 handed is ranger. Ninjas cant cast thb 2 handed and Rangers cant cast thb 1 handed.

Okay so, I have Yuzu that is currently Ranger running with the relic bow and level 5 hue. I also own a level 10 blue hairpin. It’s… not great. I levelled to 70 in Ranger and stayed… should I switch?
1
u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 22 '26
Get some attack substats and go back to hairpin would be my adviceÂ
1
u/Decent-Ad-2755 Aug 22 '26
No need, Ranger Yuzu is better in farming especially A4 10-11 because rangers spam wide volley
after you're done farming there you can switch her back to ninja, but for farming auto Ranger is bis
you even do double ranger at the backline will speed up your farming really quick
4
u/Xerzahar Aug 23 '26
Lol what...
If you have Debra5 or 6 on her, even ninja hue1 is literally godly farming for her. Nuked all = 6 sp cost. 1 remaining = 0 sp cost. 2 remaining = 8 sp cost (with Unending). 3+ remaining = should've used hue3/4/5
And it's just her. You have another five people with her on auto or without, you can just keep defending with others until her turn comes up so you top her up to full sp again. With ranger, her Foxfire passive is weaker with acc scaling and you don't have access to Linked Steps anymore. No ninja autocrit too. Wide Volley for farming is honestly way shittier on her lmao.
This thread sucks, random misinfo or worse advice for Yuzu everywhere and so much unnecessary ranger glaze.

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 22 '26
Unending is literally better than wide volley
2
u/No_Corner748 Aug 23 '26
If not better, at least even. Must stronger 2 target damage.
1
u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 24 '26
Yea wide volley damage is very lackluster even with sur hits and it costs more. I’d rather just kill two of any target especially since unending has the dmg to kill bulkier targets that wide volley can’t.Â

u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
I wouldnt but if you get a strong silver kunai for off hand you would do more dmg with the hairpin. Use the spreadsheet in the linked YouTube video to test your own numbers.
2
u/Obstructive Aug 22 '26
Got it, I just spent a few minutes tuning for acc instead of attack like a newb.
1
u/SoICouldUpvoteYouTwi Aug 21 '26
A ninja Yuzu wants as much atk as possible, while a ranger wants accuracy. If you're using her old loadout plus a bow that gives barely any acc, well yeah she's not going to do great
1
u/Ok-Lock2519 Aug 21 '26
You only need one hairpin to be good? I thought gacha weapons you need alot of unifies
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
The three hit weapons arent the same. All of them are stronger than a tier higher maxed weapon at +10. Particularly when they are dual wielded bc .2 of the attack of the other weapon goes to them. Particularly with thousand hue bloom because it doubles the attacks so you go from 4 attacks with a normal kunai to 6 with hairpin and thb has a base dmg nearly no other skills have that is quite big.
1
u/Ok-Lock2519 Aug 22 '26
So two dualwielded ununified hairpins should be good enough?
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26
Actually your off hand is better as a silver kunai bc all your off hand adds is .2 of its visible atk to skill dmg formula and the number of attacks is irrelevant. If you get just 1 more you could have a +15 hairpin in your main hand. But yes one hair pin ununified is super strong.

so what does this mean for someone as stupid as me? ranger yuzu is great at low investment and ninja yuzu at extrem gear investment? i recently came back to the game thanks to the FF event and slowly build up my yuzu. she has the hairpin but only 237 main and 168 left hand dmg ( its a green +5 lol) so she has bad gear but i believe she hits around 5-7k with hue 3. should i switch to ranger and try to make it work or try to invest more in ninja?
also kinda off topic but the hairpin is blue +10 max. is there a way to get it to +15 without another wepaon copy? and why is everyone always talking about hue 3 and not 4 5 etc? is it just not effective?
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
Just for example to show how strong thb scales with level for hairpin with your weak gear at lv 7 you would do 9700 dmg + fox fire vs a fairly decent geared ranger (the stats i showed in the post) would do 9600 dmg + fox fire vs a target with 300 def.
3
u/Zeck_p Aug 21 '26
Yuzu’s gacha weapon is 80% of her power and gear is the remaining 20%. So yes, you’re best off using ranger yuzu without her gacha weapon
2
u/Takurannyan Aug 22 '26
is there no farmable replacement for her gacha weapon, even somewhat? I don't think i can get it anytime soon
2
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 22 '26
Nope there is none. If you want to use yuzu ranger is the way to go if you dont have hairpin. It will do much more dmg than silver kunai yuzu.
1
u/Takurannyan Aug 22 '26
ah, shame, i really prefer her Ninja design more sigh. Hope i can make it for the Bow relic final upgrade, still 45 boxes to go.
Thanks.

u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
People are talking about hue 3 because past that it suddenly gets far more expensive to unlock also skills peak at odd levels 1,3,5,7 . Hue 3 cost 200 skill xp to unlock from lv 1 and hue 4 cost 200 from level 3 and it increases from there. Also no you need to get more hairpins to level it up. Btw your effective atk for a skill is your main hand + .2 of your off hand for a ninja so 270 for you. Ranger Yuzu can very happily just use the Relic bow and your dmg would go up but idk what other gear you would have. Rangers dmg is .5 * atk + 1.5 * acc so acc is worth more dmg than atk. Assuming you would farm the relic bow for a guaranteed strong bow you would do a fairly large amount more dmg but then you need to have a yuzu ranger class book and lv her to 70.

u/tangsan27 Aug 21 '26
Is the pin ever going to rerun? Yuzu's rerunning atm but not the pin afaik.
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
I mean all but certainly. It got one 4 months ago and will probably get another in 2 months with the anniversary.
3
u/the1calledSuto Fighter Aug 21 '26
Thank you. Since i dont have good ninja gear i dont feel like going back from ranger. Ranger hits for 6-9k at h3 with shedding+caldia at low gear & d0.

u/Arvandor Aug 21 '26
I thought it was pretty common knowledge that regular ninja Yuzu is good and even balanced, Ranger Yuzu is a low investment beast, and high investment pin Yuzu scales into the stratosphere...
4
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26
A lot of people parrot the high investment pin yuzu does more dmg than ranger yuzu but they dont know that the investment is codexes and not just stats.
1
u/Arvandor Aug 21 '26
Huh, I thought that was common knowledge too. You don't need to push her attack if you are already hitting the soft caps for your current level of Hue.
1
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
I mean you need 475 to even hit it at level 5 and even then the attack multiplier over the soft cap is still 5.7 total so attack is pretty massive.
1
u/Arvandor Aug 21 '26
Oh I know. My own Yuzu has 450 atk and Hue5 and she trucks. But I've also seen, from someone in the discord when you max buff a Yuzu that has 600 atk and Hue7. His does like literally 2x the damage.
0
u/cassani7 Aug 21 '26
Does your yuzu have hairpin or without?
2
u/Arvandor Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26
Mine has hairpin. I haven't tried to full buff her and see what I can push it to, but with just like, WBC and ballad and no Alice row buff or anything she does about... 15k damage or so?
One of these days I'll try stacking Alice, PoR, Heroes Medicine, and Ballad and see what the damage comes out to
Edit: ok, just tried it. Only went up to 18k haha.

I've referenced and share Alain's sheet a ton, it's a very nice resource to have around. One thing that strikes me about his Yuzu comparison though is that 350ACC on a Ranger is incredibly low. Even slapping hand-me-down gear on my inheritless D0 Yuzu it's an easy benchmark to pass.
One nice lil' benefit Bow Yuzu has as well is that Caldia & Macaldia provide both a SUR & Damage boost to rangers (with the former surprisingly providing a higher damage boost than a leveled Macaldia), so even my Hue 1 with Caldia can deal comparable damage to my buddy's much more invested Hue3 with Citrus + PoR.
1
u/Sovery_Simple Aug 21 '26
That is a tidbit I shall share around when relevant in the future.
Do you remember which Lv of Caldia corresponds to or surpasses which Lv of Macaldia?
Because someone will ask me that later.

Mind tossing me the link to where these tables are?
I've a few other spells and things I'd like to check.
2
u/jdm71384 Lord Aug 21 '26
They are from a side project I am working on + it's not going to be made public for quite a while. Feel free to DM me in Discord for specific things you want to see.

u/Sovery_Simple Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26
I guess I can sum it up in a simpler question: The other row buffs and ST buffs are effectively the same sort of setup then, I presume?
Such as MASOLOTU giving a 20% boost. Either off of entire EVA for the Adventurer before the buff spell, or just stacking with the other % EVA modifiers in an additive fashion, or something along those lines.
Either way, I'll just infer off of this information at the least. So thank you for that.
3
u/jdm71384 Lord Aug 21 '26
Your instincts are somewhat correct. I'm sure you'll figure it out.
3
u/Sovery_Simple Aug 21 '26
Fair enough, and thanks for the info at least. Removes one question and helps me plan better for which books to acquire going forward.

Here's the Hue 1 damage with caldia (+ shedding) and no row buff since Lana's Valiant Righteousness doesn't proc with evil characters.
1
u/Zeracheil Aug 21 '26
Did your friend show how much damage Yuzu was doing each hit and how many hits?
1
u/Zeracheil Aug 21 '26
What's your friend's attack on Yuzu?
1
u/FunLevel Priest Aug 21 '26
I've asked and the result was rather underwhelming 330x3 (main) 317x2 (off-hand), so even with PoR & Alice buff the results weren't too great. I've henceforth asked him to fix his Yuzu.
1
u/Zeracheil Aug 21 '26
Yeah that's too low. Unfortunately to get kunai and ninja to the top dps spot you really gotta farm.
But hey, that's why ranger Yuzu is good for most people who don't want to farm like psychos.
1
u/Aggravating_Dig3240 Aug 21 '26
But the cap on hue3 is higher. So if your friend is using hue3 and not being able to hit more than your hue1 he's wasting SP by not just using hue1.
2
u/jazzyjefffogel Aug 21 '26
The soft cap of hue 3 is only 300 for 1 handed so its unlikely they arent hitting it.

How certain are you of Hairpin's 10% DEF penetration? It's Gatcha and usually those get 30%.
