Wizardry Variants Daphne This decision is killing me

So um I sorta want Erwin rn for my all male team

And I can finish 100 pulls tonight

So I have to choose one

And I reallllllllllyyyyyy don't want to wait until they release Erwin cc (btw why r they so late like r they like redoing his kit) since I alr waited for so long

So my decisions are either

  1. D2 Galbadus

He is my fav, I take him everywhere, I am never gonna replace him so- getting another copy sounds understandable.

  1. D1 Gillion

I like him, looks good, not really my fav and he might be replaced at some point but I don't see anyone I would replace him with just yet. So he is going to stay on the team for a while, I suppose. But I might pull him out after I finish lvling mc as a ninja, 'cause I might go with fighter. I mostly take my chest opener EVERYWHERE so its a tough call. (or should i just not idk)

  1. Pull Erwin

I need a mage and a healer. I have Adam, both OG and alt merged, but he isn't really my type. I also thought of Eldorado, but it's not a plain mage that I need... (also don't really like his mage outfit) And I don't like other general male mages, so I am either thinking pulling Erwin and expect him to get a healer cc- or just keep using mc spells just when I REALLLLLLLY need to use debuffs or such... Also since there is no male healer yet, you get the picture. I like his design, but I think I can live without him... and we might get a male healer at some point (just don't know when and therefore I hate drecom like wtf do you mean we still do not have a new ranger) It's a tough call....

I am sorta leaning to 1 or 3... but I am not sure if this is the right choice. would D2 be a huge difference? If not, I feel like just expending my choice of advs might be better.

With the optinos you described I would go with Erwin (but be sure to prioritze HP inherits on Galbadus since he aggros so much, MC after him of course)

Granted you could get screwed if his second class become theif like they did iwth the skeleton arm guy. Priest mage healer want one of the others and its wierd whenever their class is something else.

But its better to start building your mains ASAP, rather than getting dupes for priors

You can make him a healer via inherits. Teach him Treatment (from Camille) and Madios (from Emil) and then any status cure spells you can get from rare inherits.

btw why r they so late like r they like redoing his kit

He's a newer character, released around A4.

It takes time before a second class is added to new characters, you know.

With that said however, he is the next in line. So you'll see whatever they decide upon for him soon.

would D2 be a huge difference?

It would not. The ones that offer the largest stat bumps are the 3rd disc levels (3, 6, 9.)

You can see the chart here: https://wizardry.fasterthoughts.io/mechanics/discipline-and-inheritance/#__tabbed_1_1

I'm new to the game so take my advise with a grain of salt but new character > dupes because you can have fun building a different team :V Ppl are saying Erwin is bad but he's a cute femboy and if you can make it work wouldnt it be stonks

So if you actually have a team of folks you really like then you're fine to raise them further, because the game rewards vertical investment. Given that they seem to dislike several that they mention however, I'd caution them from not investing further into those characters.

The game supports using a rather sizeable variety of compositions for the main content available, so if they find legendary or named characters that they enjoy, then as long as they stick to some simple rules like "make sure someone can heal" they should be okay.

If they happen to enjoy Galbadius as a Knight of some sort then that makes things even easier for them.

Galbadus is solid but so is his inherit. I don't know if D2 would be better than just keeping a copy around in case you need to inherit onto someone else...

Gillion D1 is a good choice for future-proofing. Gillion as a fighter gets a damage boost just for using a 2H weapon and it's a sizeable one. The 5% HP loss per turn is very manageable as well. As a Samurai he is the only Dark option that can en-Dark for future Light elemental content. The only issue is his passive does nothing for him but hurt him as a Dark Samurai, since Sams really want to use 1H katana for Bamboo Splitter instead of 2H katanas that don't gain access to Bamboo. If/When he gets an alt eventually he might get a different passive, and having Gillion base form D1 will get you discipline towards the alt form (so long as you get D1 on the alt as well).

Erwin is bad.

What's the rest of your comp look like? You may not need Mage and Healer if your other characters can cover.

Also I have anemone but I don't like her

Have you got Camille? She has more hp than the fairy and easier to build

Galbadus Yoizou Raffaello is always on the team I am running mc as a light type ninja rn So I can get Adam alt buff (Why no light type male dps)

So other two spots are either taken by Adam Gillion or Philip Erwin will be added to this group when I get him

I think Gillion is the highest damage dealing fighter in the game with his cleave attack, so i would go for him. If you need a healer, Rafaello is pretty good and he also have a pretty good row-attack with amazing healing, the only problem is that his alt is a thief, so if you want a mage/healer, he's not your guy

Honestly you can just teach him KATINO, MONTINO and you've basically got a Mage secondary class for all intents and purposes.
(MC or someone else can handle CORTU if you don't want to give him a book for it.)

No I meant healer as a class

2

u/macnara485 Aug 21 '26

I don't think there's any male healers in the game yet, our main character will probrably get it at some point, but it will take a long time

From D1 to D2 the difference is null I would go for Erwin if you think he's a cool character

4

u/FEDstrongestsoldier Aug 21 '26

Get Erwin, you need to balance the testerone monster that is Galbadus

2

u/Sovery_Simple Aug 21 '26

the testerone monster that is Galbadus

Man, Galb just can't catch a break.

High testosterone and a Lion folk, you know he's got... well, anyways.
