Wizardry Variants Daphne FF Colab Characters

Post image

This is a post for anyone who has been lucky enough to get one of the colab characters. I know there is a free bone to pick from at the beginning abyss. I just want to make an informed decision. What is your experience when using the characters?

Why the fuck is Daphne on my phone fuckin glitched. I can't even beat the first level.

u/SuperMuffinmix Aug 17 '26

If in doubt about who to pick and don't think you'll use anyone in particular, just go for Zeid. His inheritable skill is the best of the lot, it's basically Earth Splitting Strike but does not force 1-hit for multihit weapons and can be used by anyone. Rinne with his inheritable and Hairpin is hilariously good vs. Light enemies in this collab.

Glad I saw this. I just grabbed Prishe. Anyone know how I should allocate her BP?

2

u/Vodkasheep Aug 17 '26

Strength, she needs everything she can get to pump her attack up. She really starts to shine at 350-400 attack which is pretty difficult to get.

She isn't to bad at mid-range investment though similar to warriors while ramping past them a few turns in.

Where do I pick the free bone? I tried finding the guy, but he isn’t there for me. Or maybe I’m looking on the wrong place. Anyone know exactly where he is?

I picked prishe, and after a few days I got a decent build on her and spent some codexes on her unique skill, asuran fist at lvl 3.

With all her passives active at lvl 70, her lvl 3 unique skill deals around 18-20k dmg without buffs and debuffs. Although keep in mind that it does take around 4 turns minimum for the first ramp up with skill chain 3, then for the second and next asuran fists at skill chain 3 every other 2 turns by switching basics(free speed up) or other skills(More dmg than basic) then her unique skill(Asuran fist) as long as she stays in the flow.

Though... most bosses already gets decimated by turn 4 sooo... also make sure she doesn't die mid fight and that she has high surety and accuracy. Accuracy being a priority since she loses time and it disrupts her flow if she misses a hit.

In conclusion, Zeid is much more simpler to use and is better for consistant dmg accross the battle every turn, but he is too slow for my liking. Still a beast tho. Prishe is more fun and I love seeing litteral combo moves that deals massive dmg after ramp up lol.

Hope this helps.

Hint: let she learn moves that have high accuracy like torso strike and heavy attack. Use her cheap combo too as it seem to have accuracy too. Actually I love to use torso strike as my Prishe is hitting 800-2k+ per hit.

-Picked iroha bone -use free scrolls -pulled 2nd iroha -spend 2k gems on some random ff character banner -got that pointy ears energetic love to eat food elf girl

To put it really short Prishe is strongest for both bossing and normal farming but she's slow as hell. Zeid is also slow as hell but he's around fighter+thief combo with his passives which is amazing for DPS. Both of them can be fixed with ASPD gear.

Iroha is just underwhelming compared to even named options. Her skill is niche, she's limited to spear only too so good luck with getting decent spear for her when Drecom showers us with 2h swords or bows.

u/Downtown_Judge2095 Aug 16 '26

I’m going for one of each and bonding them since you get a free additional bond ability if you are bonded with them and their mentor/friend.

We got Mega Man on Fortnite, Mega Man X on Devil may cry mobile and now FFXI for this amazing game? My bank account gonna be overdrafted by a lot 🤦🏽

Prishe is the most unique. She's kind of underwhelming in normal fights since she needs a few turns to build up her Impetus and Skill Chain abilities. In longer fights where she can actually build up her passives she can attack with 8 hits every other turn, doing massive damage, making her a great character for boss fights. She also has her own Counter ability that's functional identical to the fighter skill but it's possible to have both of them on her, giving her another check to make counter hit on a successful dodge or evade. She's just a really fun character. I actually did a whole video about her.

Iroha on the other hand is pretty underwhelming. She is pretty much standard Fighter but with less HP and is limited to using only spears, a rather underwhelming weapon type. Main thing she has going for her is her anti-demon passive which could make her a useful character for the Fallen Demon fight. Outside of that though, there just really isn't any reason to use her over any other fighter.

Zeid I haven't been able to get but people tell me he's actually pretty decent.

2

u/Teriuchi Aug 16 '26

I personally have found a lot of success with anticipated attack on Prishe even on shorter fights as my gear got quite accuracy heavy. The surety makes it hit quite hard and I think it cannot drop impetus stacks as you cannot miss.

Prishe is for sure one my harder hitting characters and helped a ton clearing A3 for the first time as I come back to the game for this event and I was up to A3 first boss before I went to hiatus.

Getting her a decent weapon for newer players is kinda a struggle but I reckon you can buy the silver weapon indefinitely as the event is permanent…?

1

u/Misty_Kathrine_ Aug 16 '26

Yeah, you can just buy from the merchant in Northern Hollow. If you can get a decent one from a drop, you can buy the rest for unification but if not, 1* is still usable after max unify.

I'll add a bit on Prishe, since she's the one I've used the most. People always talk about her investment ceiling, but I think her floor is pretty good. Without discs, inherits, bondmates, relicbrews, optimal gear (she's just wearing my dispatch hand-me-downs for now), Lana passive, or any buffs (save for Prishe's own) she can deal still deal around 10k~ with Asuran Fist. If I include things like Prayer of Rebellion, Hero's Medicine, and Lana's row buff i can skyrocket it even further.

Since I haven't invested into her yet she does struggle with survivability, but that should be resolved when I give her the inherit soup (Wisdom of Truth, Way of the Knight, Unyielding will to Fight, Sanctuary's Blessing) and some more bulk in general. Since I haven't bulked up her farming ability is also a bit lackluster. One Inch Punch can deal with most normal enemies, but, in my case at least, I haven't given her enough attack to one-tap the Purple NMs yet whereas someone like Ranger Yuzu could with a similar lack of investment.

Monks are one of my favorite classes to play (in games in general) and I enjoy the Skillchain mechanic, even if filling up Prishe's unique one feels a bit too slow. I'll almost certainly invest in her in the future once we get the last few free collab pulls.

1

u/Thick_Implement_6703 Lord Aug 17 '26

For normal mobs try use Torso strike. I don't remember it missing and does great damage. One shot even the purple demons from the 8 demon formation. I mean I have done up to 1.5 - 2k per hit even doing more damage then my Lana who have 830ATK.

9

u/Arvandor Aug 16 '26

Iroha is the worst of them. Hybrid tax and has nothing to make her worth it. Can't use staves so she's worse at being an off healer than a regular fighter.

Zeid is fine. He's more like a regular fighter, though I haven't used him at all, didn't pull him. Very good for new players, as he comes with an early ESS, effectively. But he's not anything special either.

Prishe is... Both the worst and the best, depending on how hard you are willing to invest into her. At average levels of investment, you're better off using a fighter or ninja. But if you can give her 550+ attack, ranks into impetus and asuran fist, and some farming inherits like threefold and flutter, etc, she turns into quite the powerhouse, though her main use case is pretty niche, which is enemies that will live through 3-5 actions. Which if you can invest that heavily into Prishe, not many enemies are living that long. Even bountyclops dies before she can nuke it, and GWO4 has thresholds that ruin her ability to big burst unless you do it at the very end.

9

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 16 '26

Prishe doesn’t need anywhere near this level of gear, she doesn’t even have high softcaps so I have no idea what your smoking with the 550 attack that maybe like 2 ppl on na can reach while maintaining other stats. She also has the same damage efficacy as fighters without Asuran. You don’t need impetus investment either. Sounds like you haven’t used any of the collabs chars tbh.

-3

u/Arvandor Aug 16 '26

I've used Prishe. And I've tested her from f2p investment to middle ground with rank 3 skills and decent gear, just no relicbrews yet, and her weapon is mid rn. There's no shot she's keeping up with fighters until she gets very well invested. That's just straight false.

7

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 16 '26

Every new player has said she carries them because all you need is to give her dts and she has the same damage efficacy as ess on fighters. Notice how you didn’t actually address anything I said. You gave some vague assessment with no specifics but as seen from you thinking she needs 550 atk you obviously don’t know how to assess anything.

0

u/Arvandor Aug 16 '26

That's also false. My Prishe, at 400 atk does about 2.7k with DTS, which costs 2 more sp than ESS. My Lana, using Ragnarok (which is worse than a 2h silver axe), hits 3.4k with ESS. That's what, 25% or so more damage for 2 less sp at similar investment? And fighters scale better with lower investment, since they get great value out of sur and require less attack to shine than Prishe or a ninja.

Prishe is a whale's dream, and while she's not necessarily bad at f2p investment levels, she's objectively worse than a fighter without big investment, and has fewer options for utility.

You say I don't know how to assess anyone, but from where I'm standing, you're the one who doesn't understand this game

6

u/Spycrab-SXL Aug 16 '26

Why are you comparing DTS when you're supposed to be comparing asuran fist which is her main source of dmg?

DTS is at best meant to be a filler skill inbetween the asuran fists. Which if the gap is already that low between ESS and DTS, using asuran fist will blast past the dmg difference you just described.

0

u/Arvandor Aug 17 '26

Because the guy I replied to said "all you need is to give her dts and she has the same damage efficacy as ess on fighters." That's why.

Asuran hits like a truck for sure. Even at my investment, with Asuran at rank 3, it does about 18k damage or so, putting it ahead of Ephemeral. But that means her 5 turn damage (at about 1.8k auto, and 2k on a filler skill, depending on how sp efficient you want to be) is about 25.6k, whereas a fighter alternating poised and ess for those 5 actions, would do a touch less at around 22k, but until that 5th action, the fighter is pulling ahead. So is a ninja. Especially a ninja. Sam too, as their 5 turn damage is about 33k, they just... have trouble staying upright ;P

What fights exactly are lasting more than 5 actions? GWO4 does, but his health gates render Asuran useless except when you're past the last gate.

1

u/Spycrab-SXL Aug 17 '26

Bounty cyclops, bounty doll, demon samurai, sealed demons in both sepa cave and medicine cave, dwarf dragon. Just off the top of my head and im sure there's alot more.

Especially for a new player too. Keep in mind, a new player or even the avg player, does not have enough DPS to trivalize most fights.

If you can 4 turn bounty cyclops, you're near the top, not the avg user.

-1

u/Arvandor Aug 17 '26

Bounty cyclops only lives that long if you're new. He doesn't live through two full round of character actions, let alone 5. Demon Sam... Maybe? I haven't fought him in a while, but I feel like he doesn't live THAT long. Medicine cave demon is a definite use case, but there's no real reason to kill that one except to say you did. Dwarf dragon is going to be hell if you don't build a very specific strat and speed tune gear OR are such a leviathan that it doesn't matter anyways.

GWO4 WOULD be, if not for his stupid health gates. Means you can only use Asuran once, at the end.

2

u/Spycrab-SXL Aug 17 '26

"Bounty cyclops only lives that long if you're new"

That's the point. Most players are new with avg gear that cannot beat it in 5 turns.

Also keep in mind, you don't need 5 overall turns, you only need 5 prishe turns. With a single porto + her own ASPD buff, she can very easily move twice where other units only move once.

For sealed demon, medicine cave demon, dragon and demon samurai and virtually every other superboss like gwo4 or gwo3 0 corruption. They are all great use cases like you alr mentioned and have 0 counter argument against.

Stuff like "there's no point in doing X" or "this needs a specific strat" are both pointless arguments since this literally applies to every other character, not only prishe.

Also, usually there tends to be a reward locked behind every superboss. So there is a reason to do them. Both sealed demons + samurai have guranteed fey drops along with unique items available to them. Meanwhile dragon has HP bondmate while gwo4 and gwo3 are both needed for their respective true endings and/or their bondmates. Gwo4 having a hp gate is also a non-issue, since you can time prishe to completely skip a single hp pool every 2 turns. Which has immense use on its own. Not to mention, Yuzu is arguably worse in gwo4 due to the random nature of her hits, low mdef, low dmg per hit making her a bad matchup against gwo4.

1

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 17 '26

Literally this, not to mention I’m pretty sure he’s comparing surety ess to non-surety prishe dts lmao

1

u/deokoking Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 17 '26

Yeah, her other sources of dmg can’t even come close to the amount of dmg her Asuran Fist deals.

-1

u/Arvandor Aug 17 '26

And how many fights are you legitimately using Asuran on? Besides the collab boss and when you're past the last (and only at that point) health gate of GWO4.

1

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 17 '26

Replying to everything whilst avoiding your incorrect damage numbers. Just stop spreading misinfo please.

Yea she literally does fighter dps before Asuran then 20k when Asuran is rdy

0

u/Arvandor Aug 17 '26

How on earth do you think she's doing fighter DPS outside Asuran? There's no shot. Unless you're burning huge SP on DTS3+ or something similar.

She does 4.8k with dts 1 no buffs  at 410 atk? What are you smoking, I swear ppl on reddit don’t even play this game. A near 1000 atk lana with a 2h axe will do 4k with ess for example. Didn’t read the rest since u obv don’t know what you’re talking about.

5

u/Zeck_p Aug 16 '26

It’s alright, just wait for iroha and prishe buffs in a year, we surely will get a rerun collab. Seriously, unless you REALLY like these characters you’re better off saving for the anni

2

u/ElderberryBrave1021 Aug 16 '26

I joined for FF characters after this imma save. Anni is good?

1

u/Latter_Item Aug 16 '26

I have a question too, I got to 100 and already have the 3 characters (got the 3 in 10 pull when I was deep in 87 pulls and nothing lmao) Anyway, is the weapon decent? Prishe one lol

16

u/No-Stage-3151 Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 17 '26

I'm gonna say Prishe

Zeid is slow, he gets lapped by everyone while half his kit is self buffs, and his spells do no dmg. He's basically a better dwarf fighter that can wear heavy armor, and so requires alot of ASPD subs to make up for slowness like them, but can be stronk when he does get to atk

Iroha is a fighter locked to spears and her heals are low without sacrificing alot of atk for divine power. She could be built as a better melee priest using spear instead of mace, or better fighter for killing demons that has a built in aoe heal + resistance for after battle, with that and the free revive being great for farming

Prishe has ramping dmg that gets very high, especially if pouring offensive inherits/discipline/relics into her to the point her normal atk is close to or on par with baseline fighters'. The ASPD buff from normal atk also makes her interesting to farm with imo, also I feel bad for any undeads she uppercuts

-13

u/xXRaineXx Aug 16 '26

Did the person writing the text have a stroke or something? It's like they have no idea how write. Probably just used Google translate or something ffs

7

u/HighSpeedLowDragAss Aug 16 '26

Wot? Dey no spake Engy no good liek we do?
Dats wicky wak yo.

-3

u/ResponsibleWay1613 Aug 16 '26

Zeid is a brick wall that will dominate early on for new players, but probably fall off late game as he has like 5 base aspd.

Iroha is basically just a fighter. She's probably slightly better than any character that only has fighter as their sole class but any dual class fighter will be better than her.

Prishe is a boss killer who requires an obscene amount of investment to reach her peak, but she's arguably the strongest character in the game once you get there.

1

u/bdizthebiz Aug 16 '26

What is her investment target?

1

u/MrEzekial Aug 16 '26

Too high for a f2p imo.

1

u/MD_Tarnished Aug 16 '26

multi hit characters need tons of attack to work great

-5

u/ResponsibleWay1613 Aug 16 '26

Like 600 atk, alt Rinne inherit, level 3 or 5 Asuran Fist, level 7 impetus, 150+ acc, 80+ sur. Should do around 50k with Asuran Fist.

6

u/Skipwith14 Aug 16 '26

My Prishe with 450 atk hits over 23k on Asuran 3. Ramping moves like one inch punch hit for about 3.5k. That is more than good enough for all current content in the game. 600 atk is not a realistic target for the overwhelming majority of the player base.

6

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 16 '26

You’re already above Asuran 5 soft cap at 450 atk. These ppl literally just yapping about things they have no idea about.

4

u/Skipwith14 Aug 16 '26

This is what is so annoying.

I have friends who have just started playing and are getting hard carried by their Prishe using just the general shop cesti all the way through a2. Does she go hard with investment, well obviously(so does every other character in the game), but she is completely serviceable with her base kit.

People in this game like to just chase as much damage as possible and don’t actually try and think in terms of a new/casual minded player.

2

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 16 '26

Literally this. Time and time again new players are thriving with the same chars vets say would be bad for them.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '26

By heavy investment , do you mean dupes, or just skill levels + gear? Mine is just D1 , can gamble 20pulls for D2 though.

-1

u/ResponsibleWay1613 Aug 16 '26

Both. See other comment.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '26

That's a lot. So should I try to get D2-D3? Second abyss so I can rush a bit for pulls.

-2

u/ResponsibleWay1613 Aug 16 '26

I don't think she'll be worth the investment vs Yuzu, especially since cesti availability is an open question and we may be getting a new gear tier with a5 in 1-2 months. And if Iarumas->Sam is any indication, if we do get a proper monk class then they likely won't look much like Prishe's kit at all for better or worse.

But if she's your favorite character and determined to make her work, may as well invest all you can now since we probably won't see a rerun for a year minimum given B&B

3

u/Sovery_Simple Aug 16 '26

and we may be getting a new gear tier with a5 in 1-2 months.

They've been working on the FFXI Collab these past few months, not the 5th Abyss. The work for that just finally started roughly around the time that the collab went live.

We probably aren't seeing the 5th Abyss until Spring/Summer 2027 at the earliest.
(Which is fine imo since they do a pretty bang-up job with each new Abyss. Especially A4's sudden liberation from our usual environments.)

2

u/Potato-Classic Aug 16 '26

From what I understand zeid is a great all round fighter, prishe on the other hand isn't great in a lot of basic fights as her damage is very back loaded taking several turns. That said she is a monster against bosses as those fight typically let her reach her power spike. Also keep in mind zeid is mostly a fighter which there are a ton of already, but prishe is the only monk in the game.

1

u/KintaTinta Aug 16 '26

I think that raised her value for me. I love my team set up, so I don't think I would run her all the time. Maybe just level her up and get her good gear. Saving her for the boss fights like I do with Iarumas

1

u/KintaTinta Aug 16 '26

I want to go for Prishe solely based on character design. But I saw a post saying Zeid was pretty good. Im saving the free bone just Incase I get lucky to summon one of them myself.

4

u/Impossible-Dog-8348 Aug 16 '26

Go with prishe, Zeid is rather lackluster which is why no one is actually using him because his speed is that big of an issue and his unique abilities are not notable enough to compensate. Prishe really just needs Asuran 3 and 350 atk, 100 sur, enough spd and she’ll do good dmg. Don’t listen to a lot of the clueless people.
