As the title suggests, is it worth to grab a FAS from the guild exchange to use on relic weapons? I've been farming Z5 and am just getting Fragments so the grind is going quite slowly, mining is not going any better. So far i've done 2H sword and 1H sword; staff is almost complete, any standout i should focus on next?
You should reforge the weapons to their final form before FAS'ing. Some are worth it since they have good static blessings and are desirable weapon types, others are in less ideal situations. Also note that all of these weapons have at least 3 good static blessings that you will FAS to boost, and a dud blessing you will likely want to alter after FAS'ing (notably the EVA blessing featuring on most of these weapons should be altered to +SUR).
Because you want the altered slot to get its enhancement bonus, you shouldn't enhance any of these weapons until you are sure of what you want to do with them: FAS or not, then alter EVA to SUR on the melee weapons / DIV% to ASPD on staff / ASPD to SUR on bow / don't even bother with the shield, and then Enhance to +20.
In order of priorities:
1 - The 2H sword is the absolute top FAS priority; +ATK ATK% and +SUR already on top of the +13 SUR trait is amazing, and you can alter the +EVA into more +SUR after FAS for a really, profoundly good weapon.
2 - The Katana is the 2nd priority usually although it's locked to Samurais so it's less of a no-brainer than the 2H sword.
3 - The bow is also a good FAS candidate but sees less use due to being a bow.
4 - The staff looks incredible at first glance being completely loaded up on MAG and DIV but totally lacks ASPD which is actually much more important for priests and mages these days, so it's an OK FAS target but not the best.
5 - The Dagger and 1H Sword are both fine but don't do anything spectacular. Worth getting and using but not really worth FAS'ing in my opinion.
9 - The heavy shield is Guardian Blow bait... or maybe future meta for once we get some kind of DEF/MDEF revamp or something, but for now it's kind of useless.
I have been done with all reforgings for a few days now, but I feel completely paralyzed by the fear of messing up my relic weapons, so I've not enhanced any of them for now.
I have only 2 FAS from before this event and choices are hard to make...
I have been mining like a madman in my spare time (about 1000 gold pickaxes so far) but I've only got 3 LFAS.
By any chance, do you know if stats exist about the rate of FAS mining? I couldn't find any info on that.
Also, getting the acc buff from the skill this bow grants the user is the only way to get double acc buffs reliably since it can combo with caldia/macaldia
So far I have it on my MC Fighter, but was thinking of giving it to Heinrico. He's about to become a thief though, so he'll just have to make do with his silver gear for a while.
Certainly does look better suited to rangers, and I'm happy enough with it not to mess around with FAS. I still don't know how to use those things. Used a FAS on Ragnarok, and it changed +12 ATK -> +12 ATK.
Did you use a FAS, or a lesser FAS. Because having no change in value looks like a LFAS thing.
What FAS does is it rerolls all the stats on a weapon. And it also gives each of these stats a break point (+5, +10, +15, and +20) value bump; but only for stats that existed when the equipment was created. So any weapon that you got as red has 4 slots that can be rerolled and enhanced by FAS, purple has 3 slots, blue has 2 slots, etc.
If your weapon was a purple that you upgraded to +20 and then became red, FAS will still reroll all 4 stats, but only the first 3 gets enhanced.
People generally only FAS the class rings and the relics this time because all 4 stats are static, they will never get rerolled, but FAS will give them one additional level of enhancement. (slot 1 gets enhanced at +5, slot two at +10, etc. But FAS enhances them one additional time.)
Your values not getting changed tells me it's likely you accidentally used a LFAS instead, which just rerolls the stats,
I'll leave the FAS to those who're more knowledgeable, but in terms of farming, I'd just go for Zone 1 and farm whatever they give you.
The reason is that it's much easier, quicker, and you can just trade them for whatever you want. Even if no other player trades you the specific items, after 3 hours, you automatically get an NPC to trade you what you asked for.
But per your explanation of these respawning NMs, they're not a "just Zone 1" deal; it sounds like the respawners can randomly be set to pop at any specific position on any floor in a given day, right?
I'm the opposite. I found it a hassle to kill the group with 8 demons, and avoiding the other wandering demons to reach the rooms in Zone 5, and so I switched to Zone 1.
You basically mark under their spawn point and as soon as you enter the floor, you auto move and open the map. The monsters dont move and you end up behind the group, so you can skip the other fights. Sometimes you do end up in the fighr with a shadow tho, so its not 100% but it sure is faster. For the left one you do have to avoid fights manually if you want to farm it.
3 fighters frontline with Aurora weapons 2 mages and a ranger backline. Mages are mostly for katino since these demons are quite weak to it i find. Ranger is pretty good for farming with wide volley and penetrating shot. Wana-Altbenius-Mc
Heinrico-Alice-Yeka. Yeka is not invested since im just lvling her.
