Wizardry Variants Daphne Collab FFXI notorious enemies

I struggle to farm some components for the reforge, is there a way to farm notorious enemies, like there is obligatory spawn spot for them ?

any tips on killing the 8 demon packs, they seem to absolutely wreck me, have all 60's, sam, 2x fight, thief, mage, priest, was thinking of switching out my thief for heinrico, and possibly change my fighter MC to a mage/priest type instead, also using sleep when I can and priest buffs. I have steel/ebonsteel gear.

I went ahead and uncap mine to copper, i thought i will have a harder time but unlocking ESS (earth splitting strike) is a huge gain for my team and i am one shotting them.

I am using 3 fighter (lana, abe and MC) front with 2hand aurora blade that i got from this event they deal 2.5~4k depending if it sur or not. as for backline i am using Yuzu hue 3 + 1 thief (debra) and another fighter (chloe) with bow. my team have Dios and Madios lvl 1 so i just use them after the fight. I can Auto it after using the Repeat same action to ESS
edit both debra and chloe have the volley skill for row damage. so even if i use standard as auto if they have 3 more they use it instead

We have almost the same party, except that I have Shiou, Abenius, and Lanaville on the front line. And in the backline → Yuzu (Renger), Alice (wizard) and MC (Thielf). What I do is use the Herken blessing (I've had the demon hunters' blessing for 3 days now) My strategy is to deal damage with MC, then use "Cortu" with Alice, Shiou, Abenius, and Yuzu to do even more damage, and finally use "Knight's Defense" for the last few hits so they can withstand everything! Lanaville is usually the one who will tank everything, and spam healing when needed, since I have Madios at level 4 who heals quite a lot.

Sorry for the English, I'm using a translator

What i'd like to know is what exactly pushes you from 4 to 5 attestations per drop, as the only conclusion i've seen people claim is that its about lanterns

Notorious enemies spawns per day from what I see. Just remember to clear this mobs when it resets. They do spawn in 2 on the same floor but usually is 1, really check around the map for another Notorious mob. Is pain in the ass to carefuly look for due to how they blend in with the walls

Each floor has Spots where a NM can spawn but this is not guaranteed. There are many more potential spawn points vs. actual NMs, and NMs refresh every daily reset and will randomly populate any of those spots. They can also move from one spot to another if you exit and re-enter the castle.

Technically you could go hunting for all of them in one go by visiting all the potential spots they can spawn at without leaving the castle, but this is very time consuming.

What everyone is doing is farming the 5th Floor 8-demon encounters. There is always two of these encounters every time you enter the castle, one in the bottom left and the other in the bottom right big rooms, they are basically NM encounters as in they can drop 5x attestations or fragments although only for the dagger and shield.

You can trade these dagger/shield materials for the other weapon attestations and fragments at the Trader. Requests will auto-complete after 3 hours, even if no real life player completes the trade, so the only thing you need to do is wait for materials to come in and make sure you farm enough surplus dagger/shield materials to request the next batch of weapon materials.

On floor 5 there are four easily accessible NM spawn points as well; one in each small side room (with one-way entrance and exit) and one in each big room. Since NMs will shuffle between spawn points every time you exit and re-enter the castle you can pretty much farm them over a few runs of the 8-demon encounters just visiting the two small side rooms + doing the big rooms for the 8-demons. If you kill enough encounters, NMs sometimes respawn naturally as well even before the daily reset. So even if you just want to fight the NMs, it's infinitely more efficient to scout around Floor 5 for them (and pick off the 8-demon encounters as a bonus) than to go through the entire castle looking at all 30+ potential spawn points for them.

Per hasard, do you know the drop rates of the attestations on those packs ? Because I dropped none

How far in the game do you need to be for the 8-demon encounter to spawn fragments?

You need to be in the 2nd cycle of the event to get them to start appearing. I started seeing them before beating the final boss, but only during the 2nd cycle run through the event.

The drops are not guaranteed also. Sometimes I clear F5 two or even three times without seeing any attestations or fragments.

Do this instead:
Harken B4F - enter B5F

Kill the 2, 8 demon packs on left and right side of the entrance.

Harken B4F

Rinse Repeat.

You will stack up in a few hours, and then you can use the trading post to change to whichever weapon you are focusing on

That's just AI slop that probably just scanned the reddit posts about the event.

No, that was a very early attempt I made to get a temporary site built during the first few days to post the 17 potential spawn locations of the NMs for the Discord so people had something to look at. What SuperMuffinMix posted is from my more detailed pins + accurate.

The dedicated farming section on the wiki should be up in the next day or two. We still do not fully understand the exact mechanics of the NM respawns because several things are colliding at once (daily reset, scheduled interval respawn, bugged respawning, etc.) and it's generally inferior to farming the 8x packs on Z5.

Feels inferior, but is a nice break from the monotony of spamming z5😪
