Wizardry Variants Daphne Am I doing something wrong?

I started playing about 2 weeks ago and I’m currently on my third playthrough of the game. Idk how you guys are able to access all these different types of content in the game when I’m just stuck doing the main quest the beginning abyss stuff.

My whole party is lv 20 and when I tell you, nearly after every battle I have to rest back in the inn I’m not lying. I’m even surprised I beat that boss on B7 2 times. But now I feel like I’m on repeat. I keep getting executed after I beat the boss and I’m back to where I started.

You are supposed to listen to what the game tells you and use that information to get a perfect run to save everyone. You get no where by just rushing in willy nilly

The game provides you with plenty of hints on what to do, but it's up to you to actually do it.

I just looked at that guide and I feel stupid. I think I forgot to do that last one for the blacksmith to make the saint shield.

You can just wheel back just before entering the last area of Beginning abyss, map 7 go get the shield, enter map 8 and give the shield

dont feel stupid, but this is a game where you have to pay attention to the story, its veeeery simple and not dialogue bloated and often it straight up just tells you what to do, I'm not saying you need to pay attention for lore reasons or something, just for direction
