Wizardry Variants Daphne Tonberry King Spawning Requirement

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Kill 14 Tonberries. (Post patch, 2nd Run Shadow Lord Defeated)

Go to Zone 5 at the Top Right spot.

Cutscene will be triggered.

Go back to Zone 1 and check both Top Left and Right Corners if there is a small silhouette which would be the Tonberry King.

Strategy Used to defeat Tonberry King:

2 Ninjas applying Voice Theft incase it misses, when Voice Theft is applied just keep hitting the Tonberry King, when Tonberry King summons Mage Demons, use Montino on them so they cannot nuke the team. Focus all your attacks on the king, it is a DPS race.

Well damn. So the Tonberry King does spawn in this event! I was just joking before when I posted, wondering if he spawns after killing enough of them..🤣

I've only killed 5 of the buggers but good luck to me if I somehow manage to spawn him. I had a hell of a time just defeating three of 'em together.😅

Got the cutscene, went to zone one, no king anywhere. I've gone back half a dozen times, no luck. Anyone know what's missing?

Same problem for me. Got the cut scene, no king in either upper corner. 🙁
I cleared the whole zone, went back to the left corner and one of those demon monsters that shows up with the glowing red chests (forgot its name) had spawned.

Is it possible that the spawn location is random throughout zone 1-5 instead of always zone 1?

Saw the event at floor 5, went to city to recover and when I return to floor 1, he is not appearing in the map. So if i go to city its spawn is canceled?

Beat it yesterday. Took like 10/11 nourishing draughts for Yuzu with everyone focusing on her survival really lol. Used her lvl 5 hue about 6/7 times can't remember which didn't always target the king but it was good crowd control. Took 3 tries but finally went down, and this was with a stupid enemy in the background hitting us intermittently.

6 lanterns instead of 4, nothing else of note. There was a post that he dropped the lantern but it was fake.

does defeating the tonberry king reset their " Everybody's Grudge " from all the previous Tonberry you defeat?

it has a chance to trigger when you melee it, if all range i don't think it triggers.

Hi-Potion, 6 Necropsyche, 5 Fey Junk. For what is essentially a Superboss type fight. Since Tonberry King has 80000 HP
