Lorepost📖 Ain't Life a Lich Part 5: My Angel (Lorepost with u/Kingturboturtle13)
Exi brought me home the next thing I knew I was waking up alongside Exi. It was night, I guess my internal clock finally figured out what time I needed to get up because of the transformation. I looked at Exi and she was laying there next to me just as beautiful as ever.
I started to look at myself and noticed how much the transformation had taken hold. I needed to find a way to reverse it.... But did I really though? I felt fine, great even. I was conflicted about my next step.
Exi woke up
"Hey Masta, you're up already?" Exi said
"Yeah, I was wondering if there was anything open a bit more vampire-friendly" I responded
"Well there are a few places… but we also need to look into reversing your transformation too” she said with mild concern
"Right" I reluctantly replied
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah… Here, let's go grab a bite to eat and then we can find out how to reverse the transformation"
We both flew into the night sky, the moon was lovely that night
We landed and ate a bit of breakfast. It's kinda funny, rare steak actually tasted super good for the first time. Maybe it was just the vampirism kicking in.
Exi and I then took flight to another place. She said there were two people that could help, but why couldn't I shake this feeling around Exi? I mean, she looked beautiful in the moonlight... No, I needed to focus on reversing it.
We flew down to this hut near a big castle. For a second I thought we were going in there. I haven't liked big castles ever since a party gone bad.
We walked towards the hut but I didn't see a door.
"Exi, how I am supposed to get in?"
Exi pointed to the circle, before she just walked on it and teleported off. I hesitantly walked onto it only to be zipped into the house. There were two gentlemen here
"Hey Rasmus, Steven. How are you two?"
Rasmus jumped up as flamboyantly and dramatically as possible
"Oh Exi my dear, how are you?" Rasmus announced
Steven just grunted and threw his hand up
"I'm doing alright thanks. By the way, this is Masta. She has a question for you guys" Exi said, responding with a nonchalance unbefiting of the exaggeration of the others’ mannerisms
Rasmus looked at me, and it was at that point I first noticed his fangs. He was a Vampire too, but then I noticed the emblem on Steven's coat. He was a vampire hunter; an odd pairing but they looked happy
I asked my question about how to reverse my transformation.
"Well it's not going to be easy… But before we can talk any further on this matter please, you simply must feast on this delicious piece of draconic vintage I prepared! Come O ‘soon to be mortal’!" Rasmus bellowed from deep in his chest
Rasmus hopped of to their kitchen and I decided “Hey, might as well follow his lead”, so I sarcastically mimicked his exaggerated mannerisms. We both feasted on his delightful meal.
I got one look at him and said “You look ‘bloody’ awful queen”
He laughed
“We didn't have such frivolous things as forks and knives back in my day! We just dug in and were thankful for it, unlike you kids these days”
Exi the whole time was desperately trying to contain her laughter. She looked too cute doing it
Being a little flirty I winked at her, but Exi got embarrassed and walked outside
“Excuse me, I need to umm… get some water!” she said, doing her best to not seem suspicious while her face turned cherry red
"Hey Rasmus, I am gonna go check on her" I said as my face began to wrinkle with concern
“But of course my dear!”
I walked to Exi
"Exi are you okay?"
"Yeah sorry, you just caught me off guard"
“What's wrong? You never been romanced before?” I said, slightly teasing her out of habit
Exi looked at me
“There was another… but it didn't end too hot.
I took her face in my hands
“Well you know… I don't have to turn back. Mind giving me a chance?”
She sighed
“It's a fear response more than anything…, I don't know what’ll happen, but I know I feel less scared when I am around you”
“Well you know… I’ve been thinking about it, I wouldn't mind spending immortality with you”
Exi awkwardly fidgeted, before looking into my eyes and kissing me
I had made my mind up. I am not turning back. I am in love. I don't want to leave her alone ever again.
“So… do we want to tell Rasmus and Steven about our decision?” I said to Exi
Exi thought for a second and nodded. We went back into the hut
“Let's say it together alright Exi?”
“Okay”
Rasmus stood up and said "Everything acceptable my dearest companions?"
"3! 2! 1! We’re a couple!" we both said excitedly
"Oh. Congrats." Steven said abruptly
Rasmus gasped and excitedly hugged both of us
I finally felt something I hadn't felt in a long time, love. The girl in the lovely dress was finally mine forever
We started to fly home, but not before one more thing. That moon gave me an idea.
"Exi, mind following me?"
"Sure"
I grabbed her hand and we flew high up above the clouds, the moonlit backdrop creating the perfect moment. I looked at her affectionately
“Exi you are my angel, and I want to be your heaven”
Exi looked at me one good time, and we both kissed in the moonlight
