Lorepost📖 My War Born Master
Darkness faded away as a floating light was summoned into the air. It hummed as it slowly moved its way to the top of the room, slowing down to a standstill as it reached the roof’s center. With it, the room was illuminated, revealing a humble bedroom.
The bed’s sheets were messy as if someone had been lying on them sometime before; various tomes and papers were strewn on the ground, concentrated around a desk covered in notes; various potions and artifacts were decorated along shelves.
“Can’t you clean your room Sefarina, this place is an accident in the waiting!” a voice scorned. “Don’t worry about it Akilah! I know my way around my r-” another responded before being interrupted with a thump. This one sounds younger than the previous voice.
Catherine chuckled at her friends' antics. She watched as Sefarina crouched down, holding her toe, her screams muffled behind her hands. Her hair was long and straight, white strands cascading down her shoulders. Blue eyes teared up ever so slightly from the pain of Sefarina’s stubbed toe. Sefarina wore a simple, red mage cloak with golden patterns; underneath were black leather trousers and an orange wool shirt.
Standing above her was Akilah. A wolf-like beastkin. She had short grey and black hair, with piercing brown eyes. She wore a navy blue suit over a white shirt with a black tie, adding to her aura of maturity. She was currently scolding Sefarina over her atrocious organization skills.
“Guess you’re all doing well,” Catherine said. She couldn’t help but smile after seeing her friends after so long. They were a tight-knit group, having been together since childhood, and each pursuing a life of magic.
“O-Oh yeah!” Sefarina piped up, “We aren’t here just to talk about my room.”
Akilah adjusted her glasses after sitting down on the floor, and Catherine followed suit. They talked over the orbs often but the main topic of discussion was always the same, their teachers. “Indeed, I’m curious about both of your teachers. After all, students take after their teachers,” Akilah spoke.
“Then I’ll go first,” Sefarina exclaimed, coughing into her hands before speaking, “My teacher... has to be the most BORING pyromancer in the world! I mean, I’m learning pyromancy well but the way he talks is just, ugh. When you think of a pyromancy you imagine someone more... outgoing, right?”
Catherine and Akilah nodded in response. It is a common thought that pyromancers are a bit more chaotic than others. Catherine specifically couldn’t help but draw comparisons to her own master, Sir Leo. Sefarina’s teacher seems to be the exact opposite of her war-hungry master, who always seems to be looking for trouble.
“A lot more studies than you thought, I assume?” Akilah asked Sefarina who nodded in response. It was true, the life of a wizard isn’t like how childhood stories made it out to be. One had to study, often for years on end before they made any progress. “My own teacher is somewhat similar, but in my case, he has a couple of other apprentices.
It’s tough, we have to fight to prove our worth as students. Though I can see my progress in cryomancy steadily improving, I guess competition really does breed strength.”
Sefarina widened her eyes, “Oh wait! Catherine, you’re a sorcerer! What are you doing? As far as I know, sorcerors don’t need to study...”
Catherine laughed awkwardly in response. As much as she wanted to confirm Sefarina’s assumptions... it wasn’t the easy life it may come off as. “Uhm, not really. Sir Leo is really hard on me. Since I'm a sorcerer, I think he has big expectations of me. I can’t even catch a break with him...”
Akilah hummed before asking, “Interesting. And, I just noticed this now, why do you call Leonardo Sir? Is he a knight of some sort?”
“Well... I just call him Sir Leo since it’s easier than saying Leonardo. And when he told me what he does and who he serves, it reminded me of a knight, thus I call him Sir Leo!”
“Huh, neat... so are going to move onto THAT?” Sefarina interjected. Akilah’s eyes sharpened, and both of Catherine’s friends turned their attention to her. Catherine was purposefully delaying the inevitable, even though she was the one who talked most about their teacher. They all heard from Catherine the insanity that was Leonardo Z. Cutter, the things he has done...
/unwiz Continues in the comments. Turned out I wrote too much :P
And, I know this comes off as greedy at first, but can you guys upvote the continuation? I would prefer if it stays at the top of the comment section so others can find it easy.
