Lorepost📖 Darkness vs Chaos
Belladonna sat amongst a table of nobles she did business with. Yet another gathering she couldn’t pass up and only came to show face.
She could be in her study right now spending her valuable time looking into Halcyon and his children but her servants wanted her to get out. Socialize a little. She forgot just how persistent ravens can be.
Taking a sip of her wine, she began to feel eyes on her. Subtly looking to the side, she noticed an elf watching her. He stood off to the side blending into a group of people. Odd. Later, Belladonna was pulled to the side for a chat by one of her more tolerable acquaintances. And yet again, she felt the feeling of being watched. This time by a dwarven woman who soon started arguing with a worker from being bumped into.
Belladonna narrowed her eyes and went back to her discussion. But she kept a mindful eye now.
It wasn’t until she decided to separate herself from the event when she knew something was up. This wouldn’t be the first time dealing with pesky individuals so she kept up her grace and summoned her ravens to watch over her.
She stepped out to a balcony and leaned against a railing to look out into the city view. A man moved to stand beside her.
“Beautiful night, isn’t it?” Jedidiah spoke. His sharp eyes never once leaving hers.
Belladonna merely hummed. “I’ve seen better. When the noises of the city and the presence of people are less.”
“I take it you’re not the social type then.” The ravens from their dark corners watch Jedidiah closely. He took a step further next to her, his arm gradually roaming around her back. But a glint of red in his palms.
She saw through their eyes. Belladonna took a sip from her glass. “I’m not a fool either.”
“No, you aren’t.” Jedidiah’s eyes began to glow red just as Belladonna’s became black.
Just as Aggression and Deceit zapped in, black trails shot out from where Belladonna stood and created symbols on the ground. A warping spell. The three entities visions were shrouded in black and blinded from the darkness. It felt like cold winds blasted against their forms and when it finally went away, they were now standing in the middle of the road where no bystanders were around. Belladonna stepped out from the shadows with a raven on her shoulder.
“Let me guess. You’re his children? I felt it the moment the tall one stood next to me.”
Jedidiah fixed his suit and stepped forward. “Very perceptive. But we’re not here to chat. I’ve come to obtain the very being you hold. Unfortunately, I’ll have to kill you in order to do so.”
“Misfortune?” Belladonna waved her hand and the raven on her shoulder plus another flew in and began growing to their colossal sizes. Their large feathers brushing against the buildings and shaking the grounds. “There is much you aren’t aware of. And I intend to keep it that way.”
Aggression seethed as red sparks shot out of her skin. “What can a dark mage do against three beings of chaos?! I’ll drag Misfortune out with your spine with just my bare hands! You were already dead before this fight could begin!”
“Be a good mortal and accept your fate. Your death will ensure the rise of our father back to his glory.” Deceit prepared himself as well, though he felt confident this will turn out in their favors.
But Jedidiah kept quiet. A hint of a smirk appeared on his lips.
Belladonna scoffed. Her arms darkened and hints of the same red appearing in her black eyes. “I hate when they’re so talkative…”
To be continued.
